Chapter 43

Sky-

   It's been hours and Alice is missing. We've looked and looked. I keep asking myself, where could she of gone? me, Jasper, and Simon were climbing up the tall redwood trees so we could look at the sky. Jasper is freaking out. I don't know him very well, but Alice does.

  "See anything?" Simon called to me from his swaying post at the top of a tree across from me.

  "No....nothing," I'm getting worried, Alice wouldn't just leave. Then Jasper lets out a scream and we turn and look in his direction. He's staring, open mouthed, at the sky above me. Me and Simon look and I can't believe my eyes. Above the clouds, a black billowing form is coming towards us.

  "Sky walkers!" Jasper screams as the black cloud swoops in and carries us up into the sky. We push our way past the clouds and I stare in horror. We're in the other universe...Obsidian. As the cloud carries our still, paralyzed bodies towards a looming black castle I begin to form the truth in my mind. Simon and jasper look at me...they know too. This is where Alice was taken!

  I struggle against the mysterious force, but it has caused my body to become a cold statue. As we get closer towards the city, I see terrifying people in robes with gleaming red eyes and pasty white skin. Children, women...everyone looks....so evil. I swallow my fear and try to conjure up some power.....no. I can't use my power here.

  The cloud flies us slowly through the castle and past a room. I see inside of the room. I see Alice. Chained to the wall. Her wings lying in a messy heap beside her. I can't scream to her..I can't call to her at all! The mass carrying us leads us down a drippy corridor and throws us into a small, metal cell. I lay down on the cold ground and sob into my chained hands. Simon and Jasper jump up and rattle at the impenetrable bars, screaming and trying desperately to use their useless powers. What can we do? then a horrible, sickening realization hits me in the gut. My two best friends are gone...all those times of laughter and bubble tea and friendship...will I ever get that back? July....were are you. You are the only one that can help us.
