I was up and running through the forest before I had a chance to let Simon's words settle in my head. I love you.......
I could faintly hear Simon yelling at me to stop..but I couldn't. I was running as fast as my bare feet could take me along the thistly, moss strewn ground..occasionally having to jump over logs and branches. I glanced behind my shoulder and noticed Simon getting closer, I didn't want to see him..I couldn't. I spun around and flung my hands forward, and with an intense pulse in my arms, I felt the long vines shoot out from my hands and create a web in front of Simon.
"Please!! Stop!" I could hear him cry behind the wall of tangled vines. I began to walk. The city was in view and I knew he wouldn't be able to get past my creation.
As I walked up the stone steps to the building, I felt the chillness of the night prickle my goose bump arms. I rubbed them and looked behind me one last time at the black forest where Simon would be trying to get free before going inside. Why did he say that...why is he here.
I closed the door behind me and walked inside, opening up to the waxy wood hallway leading to the winding staircase and ran into Lord Eau.....my father. His face stared down at me blankly, pale and worried looking. Something was wrong.
"Run....Get your friends...Go to the forest..Their coming...I'm sorry, Sky..I'm sorry I was never there...forgive me.." He cried, shaking me violently first before running past me and out the door. I ran up stairs as quickly as I could and I wouldn't know until later that that would be the last time I would see the father I never knew. If I knew that was the last time, I would of said good bye. I would of said I'm sorry back.
