Alice-I wake up and my wings are lying beside me in a sad heap on the metal floor. I scramble towards them but wince at the painful scrape of the metal handcuffs binding me to the damp wall. I slide back down and feel tears fall from my eyes. What am I going to do? Why would they capture me? All I can hope for is that Sky, Jasper, and Simon will find me and take me away from here. But my hopes were gone when I heard two terrifying gargoyle guards say that they've captured my friends too. This makes me cry harder. I will die here....I know it. But then something happened that succeeded happiness far beyond getting out of this rusty jail cell.
I was considering what my death will be, either starvation or depression, when the roof of my cell caved in and the blacked sky was visible. I jerked my head up to the non existent ceiling in the floor and gasped at it. Then I looked up and the widest smile formed in my lips. It was July and Zayne! Riding....dragons? I was so happy to see my best friend again I almost forget about my wings when they lazered the handcuffs off my hands. I quickly picked my massive feathered wings up and hopped on Julys green dragon.
The guards ran into the cell with spears in their hands and gaped up at the dragons. They yelled for back up gargoyles, but we were already rescuing the others and flying away when backup came.
As we flew back to the beach were we made our boat in the past, I couldn't help feel astounded at that rescue.
I turned to July and hugged her as we dismounted the dragons and spoke, "That was the fastest rescue ever, July.......I missed you"
"and that was the most Alice like sentence ever!" July giggled and hugged me again.
"now what?" Simon said.
Everyone looked at the wings in Alice's hands. "now we fix her wings," Jasper spoke up. But how?
