     He removed the high places and broke the sacred pillars, cut down the wooden image and broke in pieces the bronze serpent that Moses had made; for until those days the children of Israel burned incense to it, and called it Nehushtan.
     He trusted in the LORD God of Israel, so that after him was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor who were before him.
     For he held fast to the LORD; he did not depart from following Him, but kept His commandments, which the LORD had commanded Moses.
     The LORD was with him; he prospered wherever he went.  And he rebelled against the king of Assyria and did not serve him.
                 2 Kings 18:4-7

     The man is Hezekiah king of Judah.  Hezekiah did what is right in the sight of the LORD.  Ok, if you are like I am, you want to know about Moses and the serpent.
     The people of Israel, after wandering in the wilderness, hungry and thirsty, talked negatively about Moses and God.  So God sent some fiery serpents to bite them, and many people died.  They asked for forgiveness and Moses talked to God.
     God forgave them and told Moses to make a fiery serpent out of bronze and put it on a pole.  The people who were bitten looked at the serpent on the pole and were healed.  Obviously, the bronze serpent on the pole was never destroyed, and the people worshiped it; until Hezekiah destroyed the bronze serpent.
     This verse got my attention.  Go to Numbers 21:8,9 to read about it.  Moses took a lot of grief from the people of Israel, even to the point that he wanted God to kill him.  Moses was a faithful servant of God, and a caring leader of Israel; most importantly, God really and truly loved Moses.  Tell God that you love Him.

The LORD bless you and keep you;
The LORD make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The LORD lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.

Love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. Please read your Bible.
