"For the LORD of hosts, who planted you, has pronounced doom against you for the evil of the house of Israel and the house of Judah, which they have done against themselves to provoke Me to anger in offering incense to Baal."
Jeremiah 11:17Three verses ahead of the Anathoth entry, I guess God wanted to include His reasoning for their punishment. So I guess I should have started that entry at verse 17 instead of verse 20. God corrected me; He does that from time to time; I like being corrected by God - thank You Father, You are awesome!
I think God is telling us that He is a fair and just God, if you obey Him. If you don't obey Him, then you better be ready to accept the consequences. The people of Anathoth didn't seem to understand that.
Jeremiah was also faithful to God. It would have been so easy for him to follow the crowd and worship Baal, but he didn't. God also rewards us for good behavior. Tell God that you love Him!The LORD bless you and keep you;
The LORD make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The LORD lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.Love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. Please read your Bible.
