And the fear of God was on all the kingdoms of those countries when they heard that the LORD had fought against the enemies of Israel.
Then the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet, for his God gave him rest all around.
So Jehoshaphat was king over Judah. He was thirty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned twenty-five years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Azubah the daughter of Shilihi.
2 Chronicles 20:29-31I have struggled with this before, with the two Ahaziahs and two Jehorams, while flipping back and forth to Kings (the end of 1 Kings and beginning of 2 Kings). I will let you read instead of explaining it to you; plus, I might get confused again, and God doesn't want that.
Jehoshaphat was a faithful king, but the people were not very faithful. God gave him rest because Jehoshaphat did what God asked. He did get influenced by Ahaziah king Israel, but overall, he pleased God.
I opened here and then read about Athaliah; I was talking about her the other day. She ruled Judah for six years while Joash was a babe - she killed all the heirs when she learned about Ahaziah's death (Jehoram's son and Jehoshaphat's grandson). The other King Ahaziah was King Ahab's son.
So I focused on everything but what I opened to, although it all goes together. The Bible is so deep that you need to focus and take notes on parts at a time, at least I do. God lets us understand what He wants, so tell God you love Him.The LORD bless you and keep you;
The LORD make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The LORD lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.Love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. Please read your Bible.
