Then Elisha died, and they buried him. And the raiding bands from Moab invaded the land in the spring of the year.
So it was, as they were burying a man, that suddenly they spied a band of raiders; and they put the man in the tomb of Elisha; and when the man was let down and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived and stood on his feet.
2 Kings 13:20,21And so it was, when they had crossed over, that Elijah said to Elisha, "Ask! What may I do for you, before I am taken away from you?" Elisha said, "Please let a double portion of your spirit be upon me."
So he said, "You have asked a hard thing. Nevertheless, if you see me when I am taken from you, it shall be so for you, it shall be so for you; but if not, it shall not be so."
Then it happened, as they continued on and talked, that suddenly a chariot of fire appeared with horses of fire, and separated the two of them; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
And Elisha saw it, and he cried out, "My father, my father, the chariot of Israel and its horsemen!" So he saw him no more. And he took hold of his own clothes and tore them into two pieces.
He also took up the mantle of Elijah that had fallen from him, and went back and stood by the bank of the Jordan.
Then he took the mantle of Elijah that had fallen from him, and struck the water, and said, "Where is the LORD God of Elijah?" And when he also had struck the water, it was divided this way and that; and Elisha crossed over.
Now when the sons of the prophets who were from Jericho saw him, they said, "The spirit of Elijah rests on Elisha." And they came to meet him, and bowed to the ground before him.
1 Kings 2:9-15I originally opened to Elisha, but I just had to include Elijah. Elisha, in the above passage, died of an illness. Elijah is in heaven, and I have no clue if he has a flesh body or not. I know that sounds strange, but so does getting taken up into heaven by a whirlwind - it happened!
Both of these prophets did amazing things. Elisha managed to get a double portion of Elijah's spirit. This is probably why the dead man was revived after touching Elisha's bones; well I don't know, everything comes from God.
I personally think that these two amazing prophets are the two witnesses mentioned in Revelation 11. I will refer to Malachi 4:5 -Behold, I will send you
Elijah the prophet
Before the coming of the
great and dreadful day of
the LORD.So Elijah should be one. Now Elisha has a double portion of Elijah's spirit; so this would qualify him, in my opinion, of course. I have wondered about the two witnesses, but wasn't searching for answers. I do doubt my lack of knowledge and understanding of the Bible; so I could be wrong.
I think I need to pay attention to the "great and dreadful day of the LORD." I have said before that it is not gonna be pretty - for anyone. Getting too deep, time to go. Tell God that you love Him.Note - I didn't spend much time searching, but a man on Twitter said that Elijah and Enoch would be the two witnesses. This makes senses because they were both taken away in their flesh bodies. Read the book of Jude, if you haven't or read it again, interesting. Still, God only knows.
The LORD bless you and keep you;
The LORD make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The LORD lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.Love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. Please read your Bible.
