And when they say to you, "Seek those who are mediums and wizards, who whisper and mutter," should not a people seek their God? Should they seek the dead on behalf of the living?
To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
Isaiah 8:19,20
It makes a lot of sense, don't consult the dead on behalf of the living. King Saul consulted a medium, after he outlawed them, because God wouldn't talk to him. The medium brought up Samuel the prophet, and it didn't help King Saul - the Philistines still killed him. You can read about this in 1 Samuel 28. Tell God that you love Him.
The LORD bless you and keep you;
The LORD make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The LORD lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.
