God's Counsel

    "Remember this, and show yourselves men;
      Recall to mind, O you transgressors.
      Remember the former things of old,
      For I am God, and there is no other;
      I am God, and there is none like Me,
      Declaring the end from the beginning,
      And from the ancient times things that are not yet done,
      Saying, 'My counsel shall stand,
      And I will do all My pleasure,'
      Calling a bird of prey from the east,
      The man who executes My counsel, from a far country.
       Indeed I have spoken it;
       I will also bring it to pass.
       I have purposes it;
       I will also do it.
             Isaiah 46:8-11

     I don't understand why the people of Israel made idols and worshiped them instead of God, and probably never will.  A couple of men come to mind about executing God's plan (or the prophecy).
       After posting this passage I looked up counsel in the dictionary, and it means (one meaning) a deliberate plan of action.  I kept looking at a pink sticky note, and read upside down - Isaiah 47, which is on the same page; I actually read most of it (Isaiah 47) before I posted this.  The chapter is titled, Judgment on Babylon.
      This really freaked me out, that sticky not had been in my dictionary for quite a while - I have never read what is on it until today, or haven't really paid attention.  God knew what I was gonna do today long before I did it (again, long before I did it).
       The more I think about this, the stranger I feel.  It is cool, but I don't feel that I know what he wants me to learn.  Although I should learn how incredibly awesome He is.  God said, "Hi" to me several days, weeks, or even months in advance.  I love you, Father!  Make sure that you tell Him the same.

Note - Reread this and want to clarify something - I finally figured out why the people of Israel worshiped idols, or let themselves be influenced. Not all the people were killed in the Promised Land, there were still Jebusites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivities, and Hittites. I think that is right. God left these people to test the Israelites. Also, the sticky note is the picture in the heading.

Note 2 - I am editing and read this passage again.  And from the ancient times things that are not yet done directly relates to the sticky note.  I know it is not ancient times, but I did put in my dictionary way before I wrote this.  What I didn't tell you is that I usually google words and don't frequently use my dictionary.  I did this day, and God wanted me to read it.  He knows everything.  I know that He knows, but when He shows you it is simply amazing.

The LORD bless you and keep you;
The LORD make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The LORD lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.

     Love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.  Please read your Bible.
