"But if you turn away and forsake My statutes and My commandments which I have set before you, and go and serve other gods, and worship them,
"then I will uproot them from My land which I have given them; and this house which I have sanctified for My name I will cast out of My sight, and will make it a proverb and a byword among all peoples.
"And as for this house, which is exalted, everyone who passes by it will be astonished and say, 'Why has the LORD done thus to this land and this house?' "
2 Chronicles 7:19-21God is true to His word. This passage is when the temple was first constructed; God warned Solomon what would happen if the people of Israel forsook Him. I am reading Ezekiel right now, and have to include a
verse -"Therefore say to them, 'Thus says the LORD GOD: "None of My words will be postponed any more, but the word which I speak will be done," says the LORD GOD.' "
Ezekiel 12:28With all the prophecy in the Bible, this all gets a little depressing, for me at least. I have been closely watching what is happening in the world - Lebanon concerns me. Iran-backed Hezbollah is positioning military sites in civilian areas in Lebanon. I know that Israel and Lebanon haven't gotten along, but with the distraction of the Syrian war, I think it is different this time. Well, I read something else in Ezekiel 17:1-3, that makes me think -
And the word of the LORD came to me, saying, "Son of man, pose a riddle, and speak a parable to the house of Israel,
"and say, 'Thus says the LORD GOD:"A great eagle with large wings
and long pinions,
Full of feathers of various colors,
Came to Lebanon
And took from the cedar the highest
branch.
Ezekiel 17:1-3This passage also mentions "another great eagle." Is the eagle or great eagle the United States? I don't why I recently searched Lebanon and found out this info - that does trouble me. Watch our news, it is horrible. We have to do our own research.
I am not borrowing trouble, at least I hope not. I have learned so much about the Middle East from reading the Bible. People seem to me to be preoccupied with everything but what is important - God's Word. I feel that if something sparks a major war, it will come to the United States; then I think a few people might pay attention.
I am telling you this, not to scare you, but rather to try to prepare you. I feel that God wants us to pay attention to what is happening in the world. Before I started reading the Bible, I was as clueless as most of the people.
I haven't heard anything about Mosul lately. I think all this is intertwined somehow, with the interest being Iran. If it is God's plan, we can't stop it. So what is the point? I really don't know. Except the fact that God wants us to be prepared. The people of Israel thought Ezekiel's vision was well into the future, but God told them differently. This all makes me want to tell God that I love Him.Note - This is probably only for me. The first passage I posted, 2 Chronicles 7:19-21, was just below the first verse I ever posted - 2 Chronicles 7:17. It is in My Highlighted Bibles Verses. I have learned so much since then. God surely is the Almighty!
The LORD bless you and keep you;
The LORD make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The LORD lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.Love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. Please read your Bible.
