"But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,
"bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you.
"To him who strikes you on the one cheek, offer the other also. And from him who takes away your goods do not ask them back.
"And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise."
Luke 6:27-31
All this so easy to say, and so hard to do. Don't let the last line confuse you, because it could be taken out of context. If they treat you badly, then don't reciprocate.
It is so hard to understand life. God doesn't care about the flesh-body life with all the material goods that surround it. So a blessed life to Him may or may not include earthly blessings. God provides everything that we have.
I just had my 48th birthday. Now God, through the Holy Spirit, let me know that this was going to be a great birthday, and it was. My older brother came up from Dallas on business, and my little brother in California sent me a card, both were unexpected. I made chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes and my older brother brought a coconut creme pie. It was a great day, although the pie was not like Grandma's, none is. She put some extra love in her pies (-:
This is where I get confused - a voice (the Holy Spirit) told me this. I still can't figure out if I do this to myself, or the Holy Spirit is speaking. Obviously, this was the Holy Spirit, and I was so happy it was. If this happens to you, then you know, otherwise you might think it is strange.
I think the immediate message is for me to continue what I am doing. People don't understand and some don't care. I need to have faith, and my faith is growing stronger but still needs vast improvement.
I feel like the fog in front of a message is beginning to dissipate - I said beginning. God will tell me in His time. Make sure that you tell God you love Him!
The LORD bless you and keep you;
The LORD make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The LORD lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.
