Now after the king had burned the scroll with the words which Baruch had written at the instruction of Jeremiah, the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, saying:
"Take yet another scroll, and write on it all the former words that were in the first scroll which Jehoiakim the king of Judah has burned.
Jeremiah 36:27,28
The LORD hid Jeremiah and Baruch from King Jehoiakim. What baffles me is I can't find the entry about Jehoiakim - found the passage in 2 Kings, but still don't have a clue where the entry is. King Jehoiakim showed how disloyal Israel and Judah were to God.
Things were fixing to get worse for all of Israel. Maybe God wants us to understand our actions; the Israelites did and suffered the consequences. Tell Him you love Him.Note - I found it, I found it!!! Twenty entries from this one - "Huldah The Prophetess." All about how Josiah died and Jehoiakim became king.
I just realized this as I reread. I was wondering about some names, and really looked at the names and thought - if this is confusing to me, then what about the casual reader? I also thought about my lack of knowledge, it still needs to grow. I don't want to dumb things down, and I certainly don't want to talk over anyone's head.
I need to apologize to God before I start this bit, "Forgive me, Father." I just don't want Him to be mad at me. Why do people think God is so boring? Maybe, being good is so boring is a better way to put it.
What about Jesus saying that bringing one sinner to repentance is more important than ninety-nine people that have done right? I was that one person, and the more I think about it, I understand. Once you accept Jesus into your heart everything changes, and you don't have any desire to do wrong; you want to do right and are more conscious of doing wrong.
I just confused myself. I was saved when I was little, probably about six years old. I definitely lost my way from Christ; doing things that society calls "living." Gonna quit now, getting a little depressed. Study God's Word, and by all means, tell God you love Him.The LORD bless you and keep you;
The LORD make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The LORD lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.Love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. Please read your Bible.
