Chapter 31

Charlie's P.O.V

I was lying on Beau's bed staring at the ceiling and I heard the front door slam. It had to be Beau, he's the only one that slams doors!

I was right, he came in and slumped down next to me.

"You okay?"

"Fine"

"Beau?"

"Yeah?"

"Why are you being so angry lately? Is it because I woke up? James? Everyone fussing over the baby? I feel like I don't know you anymore"

"Yes it's James. It's always been about James, Charlie! Why can't you see that?"

I slowly sat up directly in front of him.

"I don't understand?"

"Me. I'm not good for you Charlie. James would be so much better. I know he beat you up but I think he'd be a better boyfriend than me!"

"Are you serious? No Beau, I want to be with you! Me and James don't go. I'm not good either you know. I was a bad person once"

"Yes I do. I used to work with you remember?"

"How long have you known that now?"

"An hour or so"

"You annoyed?"

"No, I'm just glad you aren't a part of it anymore."

"I wish I could say the same, but I was told you're trying to get your old job back"

"Charl the thing is I need money, I need to get my anger out and I can't do that without this job"

"Of course you can. Get a job and go to the gym for an hour, please just don't go back!"

"I won't for now. But if something happens that causes me to change my mind you have to respect it"

I didn't reply, I just cuddled up in his arms. 

"You were harsh to James before you came home"

"WHAT. How did you know?"

"Don't worry he didn't snitch. You butt dialed me"

"Ah oops. You mad?"

"It's fine I guess"

"Tell you what, have a shower, get dressed into something nice and I'll take you out for food. I've got news anyway!"

"Okay then" 

I pecked his lips then went to get ready.

I was excited, he'd never taken me out before. After I showered I went back into the room.

"Beau?"

"Yeah babe"

"You sure you want to take me out?"

"Of course! Why wouldn't I?"

"I still look awful with all these bruises and things"

"You will always look beautiful to me"

I smiled and carried on getting ready. 

We went out for food and I had such an amazing time, he took me to a posh restaurant and the food was really nice. Afterwards we went for a walk on the beach, talking about the happy times. I could see there was something bugging him and it was killing him inside. He was really cheery at the moment so I didn't want to ruin anything. I'd ask him tomorrow.
