Reese sat on her bed with homework assignments laid out in front of her. Her black curly hair was tied up in a tight bun on the top of her head.

"Reese?" The teen looked up and saw Grace standing there. Her grey eyes were swimming with tears that threatened to spill. Even though Reese hadn't had a good conversation with Grace for a couple weeks, she still wanted to hurt whoever made Grace like this.

"What's wrong?" Reese asked, closing her books.

"You were right."

"Grace, I'm right a lot, you'll have to elaborate."

"I should've just apologized to Lewis! I was acting like a child and I've just made everything worse." Reese cleared off her bed and motioned Grace to sit down. Grace stood at the door for a moment before she sat down next to Reese.

"You're right, you should've apologized to Lewis, but you didn't because you knew you shouldn't be the only one to apologize. He doesn't deserve your apology if you won't get one back. So, wait for him to apologize."

"Well, I believe I should apologize I did throw a dungbomb at him."

"Oh, Merlin."

"I didn't know it was him!"

"Grace, I need to apologize too."

"No, Reese don't, I understood where you were—" Reese slapped her hand over Grace's mouth.

"Quiet, I'm trying to be a good person. I should've trusted you, my best friend, instead of jumping to conclusions. I also apologize for always pestering you about your journal. It's your business not mine. But if you do ever want to tell me what's in it, I'm right here."

Grace gripped the edges of the journal tightly as she stared down at the dark blue leather. She knew she could trust Reese, but the only reason she didn't must've been the stereotypes.

In their first year everyone saw Reese as the best Ravenclaw of their time. Easily trusted with a secret. I'm their second Reese began to joke around, play pranks, and people didn't trust her. They said she should've been a Slytherin not a Ravenclaw. But Grace never saw Slytherins pulling pranks. Wasn't too common as it was with some Gryffindors or Reese.

The only reason Reese acted like that in their first year was because she wanted to impress everyone. However, in their second year Reese became more comfortable with herself. She still held the traits of a Ravenclaw and could be easily trusted.

"If you don't have trust you have nothing." Anna always told Grace. Grace was dying to tell Reese since she got the spell book, and now she would.

"It's a spell book." Grace said after minutes of silence. Reese looked up at Grace with a puzzled look.

"What is?"

"This." Grace tapped the journal. For the second time Reese closed her school books.

"How? Do you write your favorite spells in it?"

"No, they're my own spells. Ones I came up with."

"Spells you came up with?"

"Yes."

"Can I?" Grace handed Reese the journal. "These pages are empty."

"Reese, listen to me. It's guarded with a password."

"What's the password?"

"My secret is now your promise. It means that I'm telling you my biggest secret, and you must promise to keep it."

"You can trust me." Grace got up and locked the door and then returned next to Reese. She took the journal and opened it. She then pointed her wand at it.

"Aparecium." In black lettering the words appeared.

Password

Grace handed the journal over to Reese.

"Go ahead, unlock it." With shaky hands Reese held the journal and muttered the words.

"My secret is now your promise." The black ink seemed to bleed of the page and was replaced with spells. Reese's eyes widened in amazement as she flipped through pages. Some pages were empty while others had the organized spells on them.

"It's a little messy. Normally when I get an idea I just open to a random page."

"Grace, this is amazing! Do any of them work?" Grace nodded.

"A couple. Here, try this one." Grace flipped to one the pages.

"Indiscerniblous." Reese muttered.

"It makes anything go invisible for about twenty minutes. It even works on people."

"What should I try it on?" Grace got up and dug for something in her trunk.

"My scarf." Grace stood up and gave Reese the scarf.

"Indiscerniblous." Reese cried. Nothing happened.

"It will take awhile. Just keep trying, but make sure the hand movement is right."

"Indiscerniblous!" Once again, nothing. There was nothing for almost five minutes.

"Just try again, if not we can do it another time."

"Indiscerniblous!" At first, nothing happened. Reese sighed and set her wand down.

"It's obviously not working. I'll just try to–" Reese stopped talking as Grace widened her eyes. Reese looked back at the scarf as it disappeared.

"You did it!" Grace cried. Reese picked up the invisible scarf.

"I did it! Grace, this is unbelievable!"

"I've always wanted to tell you! It feels so good to tell you."

"Merlin! I just remembered I have to go somewhere. Grace, this is amazing, but we'll have to talk later." Grace shrugged.

"That's fine, go do your thing."

"Fred! George!" Reese yelled. The two twins turned around.

"Reese." They both said.

"Grace told me what's in her journal!"

"She did?" George asked.

"Yes, and I'm not going to tell you what's in it because it's none of your business!" The twins just stood there, shocked that Reese—who was so desperate to find what was in it—wouldn't say anything.

"Goodnight fellas!" Reese cried and skipped away.
