No one but Reese has seen Grace since the first task. Grace was still heartbroken as Reese tried to tape the pieces of her heart back together. Reese has used Grace's spell to sneak food. She's used the spell Grace made to talk to Desiree. Anything to help the girl. The other three Ravenclaw's promised not to tell about what has happened. They kept their word.
Reese opened the door, hoping to see Grace moving again. Grace lay in her bed, her hair tangled and messy while she stared ahead of her.
"Grace, they're worried. Aspen and Ashton are stressed because they don't know what's happening. Fred and George tried to sneak in here to make sure you were okay. They know something is wrong."
Grace didn't reply.
"Will you at least come to classes tomorrow?" Grace gave a small nod.
"Good, didn't think you would want to miss classes. Here, I brought you some food."
Grace awoke the next morning earlier than usual. She wanted to avoid as many people as possible. Grace knew none of her friends would be up this early. At least she thought so.
Upon entering the Great Hall she noticed Fred sitting at the Gryffindor table. He looked up at met Grace's eyes. Grace turned and ran out, but Fred caught up to her.
"Running away because I'm so irresistible?" He teased. By the look on Grace's face she didn't find it funny.
Dark circles lay under her grey eyes. Her eyes held a certain sadness to them. Her face pale and she let out a yawn.
"I wouldn't say that." She mumbled.
"Where have you been?" He asked.
"Where's George?" Grace quickly asked.
"Still asleep."
"Why are you up so early?"
"Couldn't sleep. Now, quit changing the subject." Grace looked at Fred, a frown on her face. She trusted him. She knew she could tell him, but she didn't known if she could relive what happened.
"Wasn't feeling well."
"But you weren't in the Hospital Wing. At lest not according to Ashton. I asked Reese and she brushed me off and ran away."
"You want to know where I've been? I've been too busy crying my eyes out! You want to know why I wasn't at the first task? I was in the middle of having my heart broken." Grace snapped. Just then Lewis appeared. Grace remembered the advice Reese gave her and decided to try it.
"Grace." He said coldly.
"Fred, do you hear someone talking?"
"Besides you, absolutely no one."
"You think you're funny, don't you?" Lewis sneered. Grace noted how his ocean eyes seemed glossed over with anger at the sight of Fred. She also noted that the break up did not have the same affect on him as it did Grace.
"Probably just Peeves trying to annoy us. Let's go Fred."
"Right behind you, love."
Lewis glared at their backs as they left.
"Love, why did he call her love!"
"You really are dense." Lewis turned and saw Harley. An amused smile on her face. The same crazy look in her eyes.
"What?"
"She's doing it to drive you crazy." Harley jabbed her finger at Lewis' chest.
"She is?"
"You toyed with her, she's going to toy with you. She's a lot better at it though." Harley sniggered as she walked away. "Still hate her."
The smile on Grace's face as she messed with Lewis was one Reese was glad to see. Even though she had a smile on her face she still held sadness behind it.
"Grace, when are you going to write the letter to your father?" Reese asked.
"Oh Merlin, I do need to send that don't I?"

Ben Kellner came home from work absolutely exhausted. He let out a yawn and went to make himself some tea. On the counter was a letter. He assumed it was from Grace.
Dear father,
How are you? I told you I'd inform you all about the first task. Sorry to say, but I didn't go to the first task. I didn't tell you what lead up to this, but Reese convinced me I should. I'm sorry about not telling you, but I didn't know how.
You see, on Halloween I noticed Lewis began to act different. I couldn't figure out why. We went from a couple to complete strangers. Finally he told me why. We were on the way to the first task. I pulled him aside and he spilled it. He didn't love me anymore. I didn't go to the first task because I couldn't handle it. Reese found me and we went back to our dormitory.
I promise you that you don't have to worry. I'm doing better. I'm not there, but I'm getting there. I have Reese and my other friends to help me.
With much love, Grace
Ben re-read the letter several times. Grace had loved the boy who didn't love her back. Ben wanted to be there with his daughter. His exhaustion faded and was replaced with anger. He was angry that someone could break Grace with just a simple sentence. He turned the parchment over and found another letter. The writing wasn't Grace's.
Dear Mr. Kellner aka Ben aka Benjamin,
It's me, Reese. Grace asked me to bring this to Desiree. I wrote my own letter to you. Grace says she's fine, but she wasn't. She laid in bed and didn't move until classes began. I found her sitting under a tree crying her eyes out. Her heart wasn't made for this. Grace is too kind to go through this.
As Grace's friend I apologize. We did our best to protect her. We knew something wasn't right with Lewis, but she loved him too much. Ashton mentioned we just need to let them be because we can't have Grace break her own heart. He was right, but now we have her like this.
She is doing better, but do you anything that could help? She tells us she's fine, but we can tell that hidden in her eyes is the grief of a heartbroken girl. If you know anything that could help please tell me.
From, a concerned friend.
