Grace stared at the spell on the page. She held her wand tightly in her left hand. In the other she held her mothers necklace.
"The Finding Charm. Mum is...dead, but it should take me to her grave." Grace whispered.
Since Ben wasn't home, Grace assumed it would be a good time to try it out.
Grace stood up and held out the necklace. She closed her eyes and whispered the charm.
"Inveniet." She let go of the necklace and it fell to the floor. She picked it up ask tried again, nothing. "Third time is the charm."

"Twenty seventh time is the charm." Grace held out the necklace and took a few deep breaths. "Inveniet."
Grace let go of the necklace. Instead of falling to the ground, it floated.
"Show me to my mother." Grace demanded. The necklace began to float away. Grace stayed put, excitement filling her body.
Downstairs, the necklace floated by the door. Grace opened the door and the necklace flew out and headed right, towards the lake. Grace took a deep breath and followed.
She followed the necklace down by the beach and up a hill. The closer she got to the grave, the heavier her heart felt. So far, it was working.
At the top of the hill looking over the lake and mountains, there was a tree. Anna's favorite tree. She said it was her favorite because it looked over such a beautiful scenery and didn't need any trees near it. Under the tree, was her grave.
The necklace stopped and laid itself I'm front of the grave on the dirt. Grace couldn't believe it worked.
"Mum." Grace bent down and set her hand on top of the grave.
Anna Belle Kellner
A loving mother and wife
"People are a book. Eventually their
book ends, but they'll always be remembered. The words stared back at her. Grace always wondered why her mother wanted those words on her grave. Grace sat down and faced the grave.
"It's been awhile since I've stopped by to say hi. So, hi mum." Grace let a tear fall from her eye. "I have a boyfriend now. His name is Lewis. He's really nice. I also got detention this year," Grace laughed at the memory. "The Weasley twins and I set off a dungbomb. Reese also got petrified, but she's better now! Just fearful."
Grace always forgets her mother never met Reese. Grace knew they would've gotten along great.
"Oh, and Aspen actually became friends with Cedric Diggory. Progress, right?"
Grace stopped and looked out at the lake. The wind blew her hair back as tears fell down her face. Her grey eyes were glossy and looked like glass. Almost like if she blinked they would shatter.
"Can you believe I'm going to be sixteen? It seems just like yesterday I was a little twelve year old heading to Hogwarts."
The pain was too much for Grace. Eight years without her mother was enough to make her break down whenever she visited the grave.
A sob escaped her lips. Grace pulled her knees towards her and buried her head as she cried. Her shoulders shook as she cried.
"I miss you, mum. I really do." Grace cried, lifting her head up. "I even have my own spells now! Only two work though, but I'm trying to get others to work! One is dangerous, but it can save lives."
Grace leaned and grabbed the necklace. She clipped it around her neck and wiped away her tears.
"I love you mum." Grace stood up and walked down the hill back towards her house. A weight on her shoulders seem to be lifted.
Grace fell asleep last night, knowing another one of her spells worked successfully. It only took her twenty seven tries. But that was alright, because twenty seven was Anna's favorite number.
