"Expecto Patronum!" Grace shouted. Nothing. Grace glared at the empty air, where a patronus was supposed to be.
"I did it!" A voice cried. Grace looked over and spotted Reese, a large smile on her face as a giraffe ran around her. "Oh a giraffe, exotic," Reese said as she laughed. Grace tried again and again, but she got nothing. Harry spotted the young woman's frustration and walked over.
"Relax, just try and think of your happiest memory," he told her.
"That's the problem. I have so many, but for some reason none of them work," she admitted.
"Have you thought about a memory with your mum?" A shadow cast over Grace's face. "I've just heard how much you loved being with her. Maybe a memory with her will work. Is there one you could think of?"
Harry stood there as Grace said nothing. She seemed to be lost in thought. Finally, Grace nodded.
"I can," she muttered.
"Alright, what is it?" Harry asked.
"When I was seven. It was a day after my birthday, so July sixteenth. We didn't know she was ill yet. Next to my house there's a lake. My parents were skipping rocks as I played in the sand. I wanted to skip rocks. For some reason, I found it so entertaining. It was like defying gravity to me. My dad could only get a couple rocks to skip, but my mum, it was like they went on forever."
"Twenty? That's impossible!" Ben cried. Anna just laughed.
"It's not impossible, Benjamin! It's just called talent!" Anna argued.
"I think you're cheating."
"And not!"
"Can I try?" Grace asked, looking up at her dad. Ben smiled.
"Of course you can, but I suggest your mother teaches you." Grace looked up at Anna, who had a large smile on her face.
"Come on snowflake, I'll teach you." Grace smiled and picked up the first rock she saw, which seemed to weigh a million pounds.
"This one?" Grace asked. Anna chuckled.
"That rocks a bit too big for this. Besides, you need one that's flat," Anna said. Grace dropped the rock and ran to find a flat one.
"I got one!" Grace called after a couple minutes.
"Good, now, hold it like this."
Grace followed her mothers actions. Anna stood behind Grace and showed her how to make the motion of skipping the rock. Then together, they skipped the rock.
"Very good! Now, try by yourself."
"It took my almost twenty minutes to get it to skip. But I guess my mum and dad cheering me on helped. Pretty dull memory isn't it? Makes my life sound boring," Grace concluded.
"Not at all," Harry admitted, "now use that and try." Grace nodded. She closed her eyes as she thought of the memory. When she opened them, she shouted the spell.
"Expecto Patronum!" And out of her wand came a an owl. A large smile spread across Grace's face along with a small laugh.
"There you go!" Harry shouted. The owl flew around Reese's giraffe, which caused it to disappear.
"Oy! My giraffe!" She shouted.
"Reese, you've conjured that giraffe about three times, you can do it again," Aspen retorted as her stallion raced around her head.
The owl flew back, went around Grace's head, and disappeared. A smile was still spread across Grace's face.
"An owl? Seems fitting," Fred said. Near Grace, Ashton's face turned red as he conjured a patronus.
"A cat? Called it," Wyatt teased.
"You said kitten, does this look like a kitten to you?" Ashton remarked.
"No, but—"
"—exactly, so you're wrong."
The door to the room opened which caused Ashton and Wyatt to fall silent, along with several other people. The house elf walked up to Harry and tried to tell him something, but proceeded to slam his head into a wall. Reese raised an eyebrow as her giraffe disappeared again. As Dobby spoke, everyone began to understand what he was saying. Harry looked up.
"WHAT ARE YOU WATING FOR?" He screamed. "RUN!"

If there's one comment relating Grace's patronus to Athena or Annabeth from Percy Jackson I will lose my shit.
