Reese and Grace sat at the Ravenclaw table, eager to begin their meal. Lee sat at the Gryffindor table, the event in the carriage making him quite pleased. Reese also seemed very proud of herself.

"You know, I didn't tell you to kiss Lee right away." Grace stated.

"Yes, I'm very aware of that, but I did it anyway. No big deal! It's not like he didn't enjoy the kiss." Grace pursed her lips and nodded, but said no more about the subject.

"So, doesn't your cousin come this year?" Grace asked.

"Jackson? No, next year. I've warned him about Harley and I'll keep doing it."

"Don't you find it weird? That your parents are muggles and his are as well, but you both have magic?"

"Grace, his mum is a witch."

"She is?"

"Yes, otherwise I'd be very skeptical."

"Oh, well, I wasn't aware."

"Well, now you are." Reese said with a smile.

As Dumbledore started his speech the students listened intently. Grace's eyes kept drifting over to the the woman in too much pink.

"Hem, hem." The woman coughed. Reese and Grace glanced at each other, but ignored her. "Hem, hem."

"She is not about to do what I think she's about to do." Reese muttered.

"This lady is our new teacher? Oh Merlin help us all." Grace mumbled. The students and teachers were all shocked as this Professor Umbridge interrupted Dumbledore.

"Her voice makes my ears bleed." Said Reese. She slapped her hands over her ears and kept them there until Umbridge was done talking.

Luckily for the four friends, they didn't have Professor Umbridge until the end of the week. That's when things turned bad.

Grace, Aspen, Ashton, and Reese walked into the classroom. It took Grace a large effort to get Reese to come to the class. They've already learned Harry had been given detention for defending the fact that Voldemort was back. It was only going to get worse from there. Not just for Harry.

"Wands away, you won't be needing them." The screechy voice stated when she walked in the classroom. Grace noticed Reese pressing her lips tightly together at the sound of the voice.

"Professor, why won't we be using our wands?" Ashton asked.

"I don't believe you raised your hand." Professor Umbridge stated. "I don't answer questions if you don't raise your hand." Wyatt raised his hand.

"Yes, Mr—"

"Thomas," Wyatt answered. "Why won't we be using our wands?" He asked.

"Because there is no need for it. I don't think you'll be needing to use them to defend yourself in the real world." Students glanced at each other. Grace raised her hand.

"What is it Miss?"

"Kellner. How will we protected ourselves against You-Know-Who and his Death Eaters if we aren't allowed to practice?" Professor Umbridges' smile widened.

"And why would you need to protect yourself against something that no longer exists?" Grace scoffed.

"No longer exists? Pardon me Professor, but he isn't a fairy tale. He's real!"

"Grace." Fred warned from behind her, but Grace ignored him.

"I promise you Miss Kellner, he is not back."

"Really, because both Cedric Diggory and Harry Potter saw him!" The class was deathly silent. No one had ever seen Grace talk to a teacher like this.

"Mr. Potter and Mr. Diggory are telling lies." Cedric glared at the woman.

"Then why was Cedric dead? Why did Harry stand there clutching his lifeless body?"

"Answer this Miss Kellner, how did Mr. Diggory suddenly come back from the dead?"

"That is absolutely none of your business."

"Because it's not real. Mr. Diggory was not dead and You-Know-Who is not back."

"YES HE IS! And if we don't get to practice any Defense Against the Dark Arts we'll all be dead too!"

"That is quite enough Miss Kellner. You will serve detention with me Monday night at six o'clock sharp."

Grace sat in front of Professor Flitwick as he read over the note. She tapped her fingers on her knee as she waited until he was done.

"I must say Miss Kellner, well done." Grace perked up, a confused look on her face.

"Pardon?" Grace asked.

"I never would've thought you would stand up to a teacher like this. Especially since you know exactly how Cedric Diggory survived. However, I suggest you don't talk back to her again. It may get you in more than just detention." Grace nodded.

"Of course Professor, thank you."

Grace left the Great Hall with Fred and George on Monday. She went one way while the twins went another.

"Grace, aren't you coming?" George asked.

"No, I have my detention with Professor Umbridge."

"Oh, right." Fred leaned in and planted a kiss on Grace's cheek.

"Have fun." He said.

"I'll try."

When Grace got into Professor Umrbidge's office, she had to try not to laugh. Reese probably would've thrown up if she saw all the pink.

"Miss Kellner, please, sit." Professor Umbridge said. She sat behind her desk with a wide smile. Grace set her bag down and sat down.

"Am I writing lines?" She asked.

"Yes." Grace reached for her quill, but was stopped.

"No, you'll be using my quill." The woman set a black feathered quill on Grace's desk.

"Uh, Professor? I'm sorry to ask, but may I have some ink?"

"Oh, you won't need ink. Both you and Mr. Potter. need the same message. Write I will not tell lies."

"How many times?"

"Until the message sinks in."

Grace held in a sigh and began to write. The ink a dark red color. After she wrote a few lines she hissed in pain. She set down the quill and looked at the back of her left hand. Engraved in the back of her hand was the same message she was writing on the paper.

"Everything alright Miss Kellner?" Professor Umbridge squeaked, her smile wide.

"Yes, everything is fine."
