"I still can't believe you two have lifelong bans! It's completely outrageous!" Grace shouted. She walked down the corridor with the twins, still furious at what they were given for the Quidditch incident. Even thought the holidays were approaching she still couldn't believe it. "That woman is completely unfair!"
"We know." They both said.
"None of the Slytherin team got punishments, did they?" She asked. Thy both shook their heads.
"None of them." George told her.
"What? That woman is biased! Even Dementers would be afraid of her." Grace sighed and tucked the bronze journal in her bag. "My dad sent me a letter on how to make those party packets. I was thinking we could try it when the holidays come up." Grace informed the two.
"That sounds good." George said.
"Say Grace, how's that new spell of yours coming along?" Fred asked. Grace sighed and shook her head.
"Not very well. I might have to change it a little."
"I'm sure you'll get it soon." Fred said with a reassuring smile.
"Hey, Grace!" Grace waved to Ashton who was walking towards her.
"Ashton, everything all right?" She asked, spotting the boys flustered look.
"Yeah, I mean, sure. Do you two mind if I steal Grace from you?" Ashton asked the twins.
"Go for it." George said. Ashton grabbed Grace's wrist and pulled her away.
"Where exactly are we going?" Grace asked.
"To visit Aspen." Ashton responded.
"Is she alright?"
"Yes."
"Then why–"
"Just quit asking questions and wait!"
Grace had to jog to keep up Ashton. Her tiny legs couldn't quite keep up with the boy. Finally, the two spotted Aspen walking down the corridor with Leslie.
"ASPEN!" Ashton hollered. The girl spun around.
"Ashton, Grace." She acknowledged.
"Leslie, mind if we speak with Aspen? Privately," Ashton informed Leslie. Her brows raised for a moment.
"Alright, I'll see you later." Leslie said to Aspen. She walked away and the left the three alone.
"Is everything alright?" Aspen asked, folding her arms. Grace didn't even know what was going on, but Ashton spoke before Grace.
"Grace and I saw you kiss Cedric." Aspen unfolded her arms. Her eyes widened and she seemed to stand taller. A blush crept up her cheeks.
"W-what do you mean?" She asked, trying to brush her shock away. It time for Grace to speak.
"Aspen, we're not thick. Something is going on between you two. We'd just wish you'd tell us." Grace pleaded.
"There's nothing going on." Aspen insisted.
"There is!" Ashton protested.
"Alright," Aspen looked at the ground. "There might be something going on."
"How long?" Grace asked. Aspen sighed and looked up at her friends.
"We aren't dating really." Aspen began.
"Then what are you? Friends with benefits." Ashton suggested.
"Ashton." Grace scolded.
"What? They've kissed yet they aren't dating."
"It's complicated!" Aspen shouted. Several other kids looked at them as they passed by. "Follow me." Aspen mumbled. She led Grace and Ashton into an empty classroom.
"Alright, spill it." Ashton said. Aspen sighed and told them everything.
"Like I said, we aren't dating. You're right, we've...kissed, but we aren't a thing quite yet."
"When did it start?" Grace asked.
"After the Third Task. You know, Cedric left before the term was over. I mean, he did just get killed. His parents wanted him home sooner. Before he left he wanted to talk to me. That talk turned into a kiss." Aspen trailed off as the memory replayed itself in her head.
"Cedric, do you remember anything?" Aspen asked. She stood in his room as he packed.
"Remember what exactly?" He asked, not looking up at her.
"About what I told you. When you were dead, but not really dead."
"How you fancy me and you couldn't live with yourself if I didn't know?" He asked.
He looked up at Aspen with a teasing smile. Her face was turning a bright red. She pressed her lips together and looked away from him. He closed his trunk and walked up to her. When Cedric was right in front of her is when Aspen looked at him.
"Aspen, I..." Cedric trailed off. Instead of words he did something else. He put his hands on the side of her face and pressed his lips to hers. Aspen was startled at first. Her body became tense, but soon relaxed. Aspens lips stayed connected to his.
"You kissed for how long?" Ashton shrieked.
"That's longer than most of my kisses with Fred." Grace muttered.
"One more question." Ashton began. Aspen sighed.
"What is it?"
"I understand you two haven't confirmed a relationship. So, basically you're friends with benefits. Right, not the point. Why have you kept so silent?"
"I thought it was obvious. He breaks up with Cho, couple months later he's with me? Sorry Ashton, I don't want the whole school hating us when they should just hate me. Hopefully it will just be half the school."
"I see."
"You two won't tell anyone?" Aspen asked. Grace spoke for both her and Ashton.
"No, we promise."
