Raven's Point of View
Coming clean to my friends wasn't as difficult as it was with Declan. They were cunning and respectful at every word I spoke. They weren't judgmental as others would be, somehow they accepted the ugly truth. I was grateful that friends like them still existed in this cruel world of ours.
Nonetheless, everything seemed to have turned out better than I expected. Jasper and I wore the same dark colored jeans and a plain white shirt with matching black leather jackets. Trust me it was unplanned for, it just sort of happened. To some, it seems weird that grown-up teenagers would dare to wear the same outfits. Even if it seemed strange, both of us didn't say a word and simply shrugged it off, not caring.
Jessica and Michael had given us matching necklaces to top it off too. They are unique, and we promised each other never to take them off. Cheesy, I know, but it didn't seem to bother Declan at all, so we agreed to wear them.
Speaking of Declan, he starts practice today. The football team is quite intense if you ask me. Declan had to try out even though Everette convinced the coach. Everette has been Captain since sophomore year, and he's one of the favorite players of the coach. All in all, he only wanted to see how good Declan was and instantly accepted him due to his speed.
Cora and I decided to watch the guys practice while our other friends have cheer practice. Sadly Cora and I didn't find it interesting and decided to continue our training elsewhere. Cheerleading wasn't our thing after one year of it. Leah had made us join freshman year, but as expected from us, we quit the team.
Andrea, Trish, and Casey rejoined the cheer team this year. I mean they've been in it since freshman year but one more year wouldn't hurt anyone. On the plus side, they were excellent cheerleaders and quite flexible.
I was utterly lost in my little world until I heard Cora's voice. "When does practice start?" She asked as I blinked a couple of times to get back my full attention towards my friends.
We were in lunch talking about cheer, football, and anything that came up to mind. We have always sat outside the cafeteria to eat and be by ourselves. We weren't the type to like being caged with other students and their drama.
At school, we're known as the popular kids, but we just didn't like the attention we always got. Ever since freshman year, when we met the others, we became famous. I don't know how we got popular, but we did. I mean, every school must have their popular bunch of crazy, jocks, and queen bees, right? The status nor the attention mattered to us at all.
When my cousins and I became part of the popular kids, people spread the news about my parents. It spread like wildfire, everyone knew within the week. People always gave me their pity gazes and pity apologies. It was hard at first, well if I'm sincere, I was a mess. I tried killing myself and all, but of course, that's in the past, and now I've got all the support I need.
Anyhow back to the topic, we had a few more classes, and then we could go home and change, then see them practice. Lots of turns and wasting time but Cora and I prefer to wear baggy clothes. We only wore jeans to school, but other than that, we're your basic tomboy girls from the block.
"Who's excited about practice?" Corey, a fellow football player asked excitedly. He would qualify as the team's clown and he's such a dork.
Obviously, they all were, meanwhile Cora and I signed up for boxing instead. We thought it'd be fun and an excellent way to blow off steam.
"I'm not, I'm still suffering from my hangover. If the coach gets a sniff of me, he'll make me do laps." Wyatt, Corey's boyfriend stated, but we only laughed at him and told him it was his fault, not ours.
