{ Two Weeks Later... }
Raven's Point of View
My nose is completely healed by now, and let's just say my uncle and aunt didn't take it too well. "I told you it was a mistake to tell them," I said as I took off my boots and socks.
"Well, they were bound to know since you still live with us," Everette added as I threw a pillow at him.
Today we skipped school because to be fair, none of us felt like going. We were in the living room; all huddled up together on the sofa watching TV.
"I'm just glad they didn't go make a scene," Cora stated as I nodded.
"That would have been so embarrassing," I mumbled.
"Tell me about it," Everette said, throwing me a bag of Doritos.
"They're that bad?" Declan asked. The three of us nodded as our doorbell rang.
Weird. I thought as I knew that the others were more scared of their parents more than anything.
"Did you guys invite someone?" Everette asked, quite confused.
I shook my head as did Cora and Declan. I decided to lower the volume while Jay went ahead to open the door.
"Who is it?" Cora asked as she got up from her spot.
It was utterly silent for a moment.
"No one important," Everette yelled from the front door.
Now I was curious and decided to check myself. Declan was on my heels the instant I got up from the sofa.
"Who-" I stopped once I saw who it was.
Malakai had shown up and with a basket full of my favorite snacks. "I brought these for you. I'm sorry for hitting you." Malakai said as his expression held pure sincerity.
I was utterly shocked at what my eyes and ears heard and saw. Malakai Crane came to my house with a basket full of goodies and apologized. I am for sure going nuts and probably am swooned like the other girls.
"Please accept these as an apology." Malakai pleaded as my brother was close to closing the door on him.
"Listen, buddy, just leave my sister alone," Declan spoke up. I didn't even realize when Declan got right in front of me.
"Raven, please, I didn't mean to hit you." Malakai kept pleading.
I stepped in front of Declan only to grab the basket filled with goodies, ready to shut the door on his face.
"Thank you, now please leave," I said.
I had the basket in hand, ignoring my racing heart while Malakai simply stared at me. Since he didn't make any effort to move, I slammed the door on his face.
"Raven, why don't you start breathing again? You're changing colors." Everette piped in.
I felt utterly numb; slowly, I let myself fall to the ground. "Please tell me he's gone," I mumbled.
Declan checked the window, and he nodded my direction. And just like that, I let the tears fall. Although he broke my heart and my nose, he did the same as when he left. The day before he left, he stopped by and left me my favorite snacks.
