Raven's Point of View

It was Tuesday in the afternoon, Cora and I had to meet Ian and Dawson at the gym. "Do you think they'll go hard on us again?" Cora asked as we got our stuff from the trunk.

"Maybe they will, but we'll get used to it," I said as I mentally started to prepare myself.

"So, should we pick you guys up after practice?" Everette asked as he got out of the car. Everette and Declan had offered to bring us today since practice for them started in half an hour.

"No, I'm sure Dawson will give us a lift home," I said.

"Ok, well, when the practice is over, we'll head right over to Dawson's house," Declan stated before getting in the car.

I nodded, and they left right away. "Hey there, kiddos, what's taking you two so long?" Ian asked as he opened the front door.

"We're coming," I stated. Cora and I grabbed our bags and walked straight inside.

"Oh, and before I forget, it seems like we have two new guys training in the gym," Ian added.

"Who might the new guys be?" Cora asked me as I shrugged.

Before I even gave her an answer, Ian had beaten me to it. "Something along the lines of Crane and Blackwood." Ian didn't have the best memory at all.

"Well, we can't be seen by them. We're not ready yet." Cora said as my feet decided to stop working.

I had frozen, not wanting to set another foot inside the gym. At that, Ian noticed and gave Cora a weird look.

"Don't you remember?" Cora stated in a 'duh' tone. But still, Ian looked utterly lost. Jesus Christ, this old man. "Crane and Blackwood are Malakai and Gavin," Cora said as I mentally slapped myself.

Ian went wide-eyed and walked towards me. "I swear, I forgot," Ian said. "Ya think," I said as I took a tighter firm on my bag.

Ian then grabbed my arm and started to walk quickly, not to cause a scene.

"Raven. Cora. Finally!" Dawson shouted, ruining any chance of not being spotted.

Us being us acted like we didn't know him turning our heads sideways or either pretended it wasn't us he called.

Ian took his phone out as if he were talking on the phone while he pushed us inside a room.

"What a-" Cora was cut off when we heard Ian and Dawson talking to very familiar voices.

"Did you, by any chance, say Raven and Cora?" I heard Malakai ask. Both of us kept our mouths shut and made no effort to make sounds.

"Sorry, kid, you must have heard someone else," Dawson stated as Cora and I covered each other's mouth.

"So those bags aren't yours?" Gavin then asked after a few moments of silence.

Dam it. I thought to myself. We dropped our bags when Ian pushed us inside of this room, although my bag is a dark blue marine camouflage color while Cora has a dark burgundy color bag.

"Can't blame us for having good taste," Dawson stated nonchalantly as it took all of me not to laugh out loud.

"Yeah, well, as you can see from our shirts, we're Marines, and well, if you excuse us, we have some training to do." Ian quickly added.

"Oh, right, sorry," Gavin stated as both Dawson and Ian let out a sigh. Once the coast was clear, we were let out.

"Sorry about that kiddo, it's not like I got a heads up," Dawson explained.
