Chapter 3 - You're My Girl Now

On the way home we stopped to get food and alcohol. We even got a box of chicken nuggets to cook when we got to my place. I parked in my spot and guessed that Taylor had picked up Abby since her car was still here. We got out of the car and headed inside. I headed into the kitchen and put the oven on as Dave closed the door and came into the kitchen with the alcohol.

"Mind if I look around?" Dave asked as he put the beer and jager on the table.

"Not really. Just avoid the room at the top of the stairs. It's Abby's," I replied and turned my attention to the stove. I heard him go upstairs and tried to remember if my room was a mess or not and if there was any bras or panties on the floor. Once I got the oven preheated, I headed upstairs and saw my door was open. I walked into my room and saw him looking at the bookcase.

"Find anything interesting in there?" I asked and Dave turned around to look at me.

"The Dharma Bums is the odd book out. I see you have a few books about Kurt," he said and I made a face.

"Ya but I have one about you so it works out. I got The Dharma Bums because of Frances," I responded with as he walked around my bed and sat on the end of it. I saw a bra on the floor half under the bed by his foot.

"Nice. Where did you get a bed this soft?" Dave asked as he flopped backwards on it.

"It's just two feather thing-a-ma-bobs on top of the mattress. It's my cloud," I replied as I walked over and kicked the bra under the bed more. Dave sat back up as I took a step back and was thankful that I did or his eyes would have been level with my chest.

"It's definitely cloud like. So what do you want to watch?" Dave asked as he looked up at me.

"I don't know. There's lots of dvds downstairs. I made sure I got everything sent to me before I cut off contact with my mom. There's more on this thing," I replied as I walked over to the desk and picked up my portable hard drive.

"If you could watch any movie right now what would it be?" he asked as he stood up and walked over to me.

"Almost Famous," I replied and he smiled at me. God that smile made me melt.

"Then that's what we'll watch," Dave said as the door bell rang. I made a face and headed downstairs. I looked out the peep hole and saw Jared.

"Get off my porch asshole," I yelled through the door as Dave joined me.

"Baby open the door. I'm sorry I was being a douche bag. Come on baby let me in. I'll make it all better," Jared said and I rolled my eyes.

"Let me at him. I'll kick his ass," Dave said and I turned around to look at him.

"Who the fuck are you in there with? Let me in Brittany," Jared yelled and started banging on the door.

"No. Go the fuck away. You dumped me and said I wasn't worth it. You accused me of dating other guys when it was only you. You accused me because you're the one whose fucking other girls. Go away Jared and have a nice fucking life," I replied and walked away from the door.

"Yo let me in you little bitch. I'm going to smack you once I get in there," Jared yelled as I walked into the kitchen. I heard the door open shortly after and walked around the corner and saw that Dave had opened it.

"Who the fuck do you think you are to speak to her like that?" he asked Jared as they stood there looking at each other.

"She's my girlfriend and I can speak to her how I want," Jared said and he tried to walk past Dave but he pushed him back.

"You're not getting in here. If I remember correctly, you dumped her today. You accused Britt of cheating on you and said she wasn't worth it. One day she'll find a guy who thinks she is worth it. When that day comes, I'll remind her about you and tell her that you dumping her was the best thing you ever did for her. Now get the fuck out of here before I actually kick your ass," Dave said and took a step towards Jared.
