2 Days Later - Feb. 12/19
"God I can't believe I let you talk me into this," I said as I put the scallop potatoes in the oven.
"Babe things are going to be ok. If you want her to go then we'll tell her to leave. As soon as you start getting really uncomfortable just let me know. I got your back beautiful," Dave said back as he turned me around to face him.
"She pisses me off once and I'm kicking her out," I said before he pulled me in for a hug.
"Deal," he said back. We stood there for a moment and just held each other. I pulled away a bit and looked up at Dave.
"Can you watch our little one for a bit? I just need to change from my pjs," I asked.
"Yes I can and you might want to hurry. Taylor and Abby will be here any minute and then your mom and step dad will be here after that. Go," Dave said and let go of me.
I kissed him on the cheek and ran off upstairs. I had did my hair before I went to make the potatoes so all I needed to was get dressed. I put on a pair of flip flops and a long tube top style blue patterned dress. I then walked across the hall into Lachelle's room and went out onto the balcony. I had decorated it with an outdoor couch, some chairs, and lots of plants. When Lachelle went down for her naps, I'd bring a book and just sit out here. I sat down on the couch and lit a smoke as Rumpel hopped up beside me. Shortly after I was joined by Abby and two glasses of wine.
"Oh I so need this," I said as I took one from her. I took a sip and then smiled. "Thanks girlie."
"You're welcome. Dave said you'd probably need something to calm you down. You doing ok with everything?" she asked as she sat down in a chair.
"I guess. I know she's not going to do anything but it's just what she says," I replied.
"Ya I know boo. We're all here to support you. We're your family now. She's your mom because she raised you but she's not your family. Family doesn't treat family that way," Abby said back and I smiled briefly.
"Ya you're right. I got a pretty great family now and I love all of you. Hey how's that little boy of yours?" I asked.
"He's amazing. I can't get enough of him. Let's go see him," Abby said and stood up. I put out my smoke and we headed out of Lachelle's room. We were about to walk down the stairs when the doorbell rang. We got to the bottom as Dave came running out of the kitchen. He opened the door and step aside as my mom and step dad walked in.
"Mom, Bob," I said with a slight nod. I hugged both of them before Dave shook their hands. I introduced Abby to them and we then headed into the kitchen. I then introduced her to Taylor who shook their hands while holding Stephen. Lachelle ran over and hid behind my legs.
"Well whose this little girl?" Bob asked as Lachelle moved over to Dave and he picked her up.
"That is Lachelle my daughter," I replied with a smile.
"She looks like you," my mom said and I looked at her.
"I see more of Dave in her but thanks I guess," I said in response.
"Ok so how do you like your steaks?" Dave asked after a few moments of silent.
My mom and Bob answered before Bob joined Dave and Taylor outside. I went about making a Caesar salad as Abby and my mom started talking. Lachelle eventually ran into the house and because she was scared, she grabbed onto my leg again. She stayed glued to me while I finished the salad and took the potatoes out of the oven.
"Sweetie do you want to take the to the table for me?" I asked as I bent down to look at her.
"Yes pwease," she said. I handed her the salad, which had a lid on it, and we headed off to the dining room.
