I woke up earlier the next day and took a shower and got dressed in a pair of jeans, a white tank top and a long black and white plaid shirt. I ate a piece of toast before I got in my car and headed to Studio 606 West. I was at a stop light when I got a text. I checked it and it was Dave. He had texted look behind you, so I turned my head and saw Dave behind me. He waved and I waved back. I pulled into the parking lot and Dave did shortly after. He parked beside me and came to get in my car.
"Good morning," I said as he closed the door and put his seatbelt on.
"Good morning. I didn't know you wear glasses," Dave replied and I realized I was still wearing them. Which also meant I wasn't wearing make up.
"I don't normally wear them. I'm not even wearing make up," I said as I backed out and drove down to the coffee shop.
"Well you look good both ways. We'll just get coffee for us right now. Maybe something to eat too," Dave said as I drove.
"Sounds fine to me. So how was your night?" I asked as we came to a red light by the coffee shop.
"It was ok. Stayed late at the studio and worked on some things then went home to eat and sleep. How was your night with Taylor?" he asked as I pulled into the parking spot.
"It was fun. I survived a night of listening to Rush, Queen and Bowie and live to tell the tale. Those two wouldn't stop talking. He left sometime after I went to bed," I replied as we got out and headed into the coffee shop. We ordered coffee and got muffins and headed back to the car with them. We headed back to the studio and went inside with our coffee and muffins.
"There's nothing really to do unless we ask you to do something. Sorry for making you come in early," Dave said as I sat down on the couch and started picking at my muffin.
"It's fine. I don't mind. There's so much to look at around here. It's like I died and went to heaven," I replied before I put another piece of muffin in my mouth.
"Feel free to look around if you want when you get bored later. So what kind of things do you like to do in your free time?" Dave asked as he pushed his chair over to the couch.
"Write, read, karaoke and whatever I want now that I'm free from mommie dearest," I replied. Why did I say that?
"What do you mean by that?" he asked. I looked up and saw Dave was looking at me.
"My mom had control over pretty much everything and anything I did. I'm free and away from her and I'm actually doing pretty damn good. I'm a hell of a lot happier too," I replied and put more muffin in my mouth. Why was I opening up like this. I could feel his eyes still on me.
"That sucks but at least you're happy now. What's your favorite book?" Dave asked as he took a sip of coffee.
"This book I found in junior high called Swollen. I will always judge a book by it's cover after that find," I replied with a smile. We kept talking as we ate our muffins. We took our coffees out with us when we went for a smoke. We got in my car and I turned it on so I could roll down the windows. We both had just lit a smoke when Dave asked me something that threw me off guard.
"Do you have a boyfriend?" Dave asked and I turned my head to look at him.
"Why?" I asked back.
"Just curious I guess," he replied before taking a drag of his smoke.
"I don't know what the fuck he is but I have a something. Not official but not seeing other people or atleast I'm not," I said in response to his question.
"He's stupid if he is seeing other people," Dave said as a car pulled into the parking lot.
"I'm surprised he's not late," I said when I realized it was Taylor's car.
