12 Weeks Later - October 25/18

24 Weeks

9 1/2 Months Old

The guys were back from tour and I couldn't be happier. While they were gone Abby had moved into the pool house so she could help out while my foot was healing. She ended up staying so she could be close during the pregnancy. Taylor had moved in too once they got home from tour and they only stayed at their place when Taylor had the kids. Harper had also moved back in once Dave got home. Dave got to work baby proofing the house when he got home as Lachelle could now crawl around like a champ. Dave was downstairs working on something while Lachelle and I played in the living room while Harper did her homework. Abby and Taylor where in the kitchen making dinner.

"Can I ask you a question about the baby Britt?" Harper asked out of nowhere. I looked over at her as I picked Lachelle up to hold her.

"Sure," I responded with as I stood up and sat on the couch by her.

"I get that it's uncle Taylor but how is it Abby's?" she asked.

"Well they took one of Abby's eggs and they combined it with uh uncle Taylors stuff. Then they put it in and now there's a baby," I replied.

"Why did they choose you?" she asked and looked up at me.

"I offered. They really wanted a baby and I wanted to help. I saw how upset Abby was and she really wants to be a mom. I love both Taylor and Abby and they deserve to have a baby of their own. I wanted to help them and I am," I replied.

"So when you have the baby, it'll go home with Taylor and Abby and we'll never see it?" Harper asked with a sad look on her face. I put my free arm around her and gave her a hug.

"No sweetie. We'll see the baby whenever Abby comes over and you know she's always here," I said which made Harper laugh.

"I'm not always here. I do go to work," Abby said as she walked into the living room. She joined us on the couch and took Lachelle from me.

"Oooo he's kicking," I said interrupting Harper before she could speak. She smiled and put her hand on my belly along with Abby. Dave came in as their hands where on my bump and he just shook his head and smiled.

"Hey Abby do you think we can talk for a second?" He asked she noticed him.

"Ya sure," she replied and stood up. Her and Dave headed upstairs with Lachelle as Taylor came into view from the hall. He watched them go up and then turned to look at me.

"What was that about?" he asked as he pointed up.

"I have no idea. Come here and feel your child kick before he stops," I replied. Taylor sat down and put his hand on my belly and smiled.

"Does he have a name yet?" Harper asked as she looked at Taylor

"He does. We're naming him after both our dads. Stephen Gerald Hawkins," Taylor replied.

"Awww I like it. It's a great name," I said as Dave, Lachelle and Abby came back down.

"I'm starving when's dinner?" Dave asked.

"It's ready dude. I came in here to tell you guys but you were leaving. What was that about?" Taylor responded with. Abby grabbed Taylor and pulled him out of the living room, whispering as she went.

"Everything ok?" I asked as Harper headed to the kitchen.

"Ya everything it great. I just needed to ask her to help me with something tomorrow. You'll be spending the day with T and this little cutie pie," Dave replied as Lachelle started babbling.

"Ok but everything is ok?" I asked again.

"Yes. Now come on let's go eat. My stomach is growling," Dave said and then left the living room with Lachelle. I felt like something was up but I was probably just imagining things.

The Next Day

Dave and Abby left after he came back from dropping Harper off at school and it was just me and Taylor until they got home. I kept asking him what they were doing and he always answered with "I can't tell you" and it was starting to bug me.

"You can't give me one hint as to what they're up to?" I asked as Taylor came back in from the pool house.

"Nope. If I told you I'd have to kill you and I can't do that right now," he replied. I sighed and went back to my book as Taylor sat down on the floor to play with Lachelle. I tried reading but I was too annoyed and ended up closing the book.

"You can't tell me anything? I mean I just need something so that my thoughts don't go to the dark place," I said as I looked at him.

"They're planning something for your birthday but I didn't say anything," Taylor said after awhile.

"Thanks T. I know that would never actually happen but my mind just goes there now. I don't want it to but it just does," I said as Lachelle handed Taylor a stuffed duck.

"It's ok. I kind of get it. I mean if that happened to me and we worked shit out, I'd still get those thoughts too. I'm sure they'll go away after some time. Did you have these thoughts when Jordyn brought the girls out to visit on tour?" Taylor asked as Lachelle took it back from him and then gave it right back to him.

"I did but he told me nothing happened. That whole week he actually skyped me and left it on all night. Over excessive, maybe but it actually really helped. It was kind of sweet though. We were sleep together but not together," I replied. I smiled as I remembered that whole week.

"He's not going to do that again Britt. He loves you and doesn't want to hurt you again. Hey do you remember that day Andrew came to the studio to meet you?"

"Ya I do. What about it?" I asked.

"Well Dave said something that day. Now that I think about it, I think he was talking about you. He told me not to worry about it and it's his life and he'll do whatever the fuck he wants. Then he said she's not going to get hurt. I honestly think he was talking about you. He told you what happened when he got home and he's not planning on screwing up again. Trust me on that," Taylor replied. Lachelle shouted and Taylor turned his attention to her. She took the toy from him again and then crawled away from him.

"Why do you think he was talking abut me?" I asked as Lachelle stopped and sat down. She then made a face at Taylor and we both laughed, her joining us.

"We were talking about you and him starting things and I just knew. I could tell from the way he said it and the look in his eyes. He didn't mean to hurt you. I know you guys worked through it and took your time and I'm happy for you two. Sorry for beating the dead horse but he's not going to do that again. He wants you and Lachelle and maybe two other little ones like her," Taylor said in response.

"I hope they're all goof balls like her but I could do with a couple of boys. When are they going to be back?" I asked and looked at the clock. It was 2:45 and Dave would have to pick Harper up soon.

"Abby said they'd be back around 2:30 ish so any second really," Taylor replied.

"Ok well I'm going to take a nap. Your child is using up my energy to kick the shit out of me at night," I said as I stood up. I went upstairs and laid down.

Dave's Point of View

Abby and I had spent the day getting a bunch of things for the big surprise party we were throwing for Britt's birthday. This was going to be her last birthday of her twenties and after the year she had and what she was doing for Abby and Taylor, she deserved it. I had something else up my sleeve but today was just us running around getting things set up. Taylor said he would talk to Wiley about performing and I managed to get the Rainbow for the night. We had gotten a bunch of balloons and streamers and other things. We were heading home with everything when I looked over at Abby who was driving.

"You sure she'll like it?" I asked as we turned onto our street.

"Are you kidding me? She'll love it," Abby replied as we waited for the gate to open.

"I hope so. God I hope so," I said back.
