"Dave get up and shut the alarm off please," I said as I gently pushed him.
"You're closer," he mumbled back.
"I am not. It's right in front of you on your night stand. Besides you have to take Harper to school," I said and pushed him again.
"Let her drive herself," Dave said back and rolled onto his stomach. I sat up in bed and just glared at him.
"Fine I'll drive her. Just shut that stupid thing off before La," I started but stopped as Lachelle started crying. I got out of bed as Dave shut the alarm off and I headed into the nursery. Lachelle was standing up and reached out to me while bawling her eyes out. I picked her up and hugged her close to me and tried to calm her down.
"Good morning," Harper said as she walked into the nursery.
"Morning Harps," I said back as I sat in the rocking chair with Lachelle.
"She's cranky this morning," Harper remarked as she looked through Lachelle's clothes. This was how our mornings went. Harper would pick out Lachelle's outfit and then go get ready for school before we headed downstairs for breakfast.
"We didn't turn the alarm off in time and she doesn't like the high pitch noise it makes. We'll go lay down after breakfast. Ya we will," I replied as Lachelle started calming down. She was pointing at me with her other fingers in her mouth. Harper came over with a dress and leggings and kissed Lachelle's cheek which made her turned to look at her sister.
"I like these. Dad said we're not having a normal breakfast today. He asked me if we should have French toast or pancakes," Harper said.
I moved down to the floor as Harper brought me what I needed to change Lachelle. I changed her and got her dressed while Harper went and got ready and then we all headed downstairs. Harper ran ahead of me into the kitchen and I took my time as I walked slowly with Lachelle. She was starting to walk but only if she had her shopping cart, doll stroller or someone to hold onto.
"Happy birthday," everyone shouted as we walked into the kitchen. There was a thing of balloons and two bouquets of flowers. One of mixed flowers and one of roses.
"Aww you guys. Thank you," I said back. Harper ran over to me and gave me a hug before Taylor and Abby each gave me a hug. I picked Lachelle up and walked over to Dave.
"Happy birthday babe. I'm sorry about earlier. I was up with Lachelle all night," Dave said as he hugged both of us.
"That explains a lot. I'm sorry. Am I allowed a big cup of coffee today?" I asked as I put Lachelle in her high chair.
"Yes but only the one cup. Jordyn is picking Lachelle up after picking Harper up from school. She'll bring Ophelia so her and Violet and see you for a bit. Jacob is coming over to do you hair, make up and nails for dinner tonight. Make that last through out your day of being pampered," Dave replied as I poured my cup of coffee.
"Mmmm yes sir," I said back as I smelled the coffee. He walked over to me and kissed me on the cheek.
We all sat down in the dining room and had breakfast together. After breakfast, Dave took Harper to school, Abby went to work and Taylor did dishes. Lachelle was getting sleepy so I went upstairs and laid down with her in my bed. Taylor woke us up when Jacob came over. Jordyn and the girls came over after Jacob had finished my nails and had put my hair in big rollers. They each gave me a present but I told them I'd wait until the weekend to open them with them. I was worried about Jordyn taking Lachelle for the night but I knew she was in good hands. It was just new mom separation anxiety. Jacob finished my hair and did my make up before giving me a box.
