Chapter 30 - 2 Go While 1 Stays

4 Days Later - April 30th

4 Weeks and 4 Days

We spent the weekend around the house with the girls. I hadn't been feeling that great cause of the morning sickness but it lasted all day sometimes. I was helping Violet with her homework when Dave came back with Ophelia and Harper from shopping.

"Hey guys. How was shopping?" I asked as Harper and Ophelia went upstairs with bags and Dave joined Violet and I in the kitchen.

"Good. Got some clothes for them to wear when they're here. Wish you two had joined us," he replied. Violet didn't look up and kept working while I got off my chair and walked out back with Dave.

"She didn't want to go and you know she would have been all moody if you forced her. I wasn't feeling good anyways so it works out. Besides she is almost done her homework and you'll have the rest of the day with her," I said as Dave sat down at the table and lit a smoke.

"You wouldn't mind watching the others while I take Violet out?" Dave asked.

"Not at all. Harper wanted to make cookies and Ophelia wanted to watch Frozen again. Maybe you could take her to lunch. She wasn't hungry at lunch," I replied.

"I could do that. Harper and Ophelia ate before we came home. I guess I'll be back in time for dinner. Before I go though I need some sugar," Dave said and pulled me onto his lap. I put my arms around his neck and he pulled me in for a kiss. He kissed me twice on the lips before kissing my face a few times. He stopped when we heard someone clear their throat. I looked up and saw Violet so I got off Dave's lap.

"I'm finished my homework," she said as she walked towards us.

"Good. Your dad is going to take you out for a bit for some alone time," I said back. Violet's face lit up as Dave stood up.

"Can we get something to eat while we're out please?" she asked as her and Dave headed inside to go out.

When Harper came down she said Ophelia was tired and passed out on her bed. I went upstairs just to check and she was even under the blanket. Harper and I then made chocolate chip cookies and while they where in the oven, I started on dinner while Harper played with Ophelia. I got a text from Dave before they got home that Jordyn asked if she could join us for dinner. I didn't have time to response and when him and Violet got home he wanted an answer. I said it was fine and Violet went to set the dining room table. Dave took over the sauce while I finished the cookies and sat down in between batches. Dave completely took over in the kitchen and told me to go get dressed. I decided on wearing a white off the shoulder dress with white sneakers. I did my make up a bit and just brushed my hair. Dave shouted from the kitchen that Jordyn was here and asked me to get the door when it rang as I got to the bottom of the stairs. My heart started beating fast as I waited. I was worried about what might happen during dinner. When the doorbell rang, I took a deep breath in and let it out as I walked to the door. I opened it and smiled at Jordyn.

"Hello Brittany," Jordyn said. I stepped aside and motioned for her to come in.

"Hey Jordyn," I said back and closed the door behind her.

"How are you? Dave said you weren't feeling good this week," She said. I started towards the kitchen and she followed.

"I'm fine. Just a little dizzy and tired. How are you?" I asked in return. Dave was washing the cookie sheets when we walked in.

"Oh I'm good. Hey Dave," Jordyn replied.

"Hey Jordyn. I just need to start the noodles. Babe why don't you get us something to drink," Dave said.
