Chapter 24 - Moving On Up

1 Week Later - Feb. 21st

I canceled my doctor appointment the day after Valentine's day because I had gotten my period. I was relieved but deep down I was a little sad. We had moved Abby into Taylor's house before Dave had to go be with the girls. Dave was over at Jordyn's all weekend spending time with the girls while he packed up his stuff. Jordyn had gone away for the weekend and most of this week just so she wouldn't have to see Dave. I spent all day sunday and monday helping Dave pack. Jordyn would be coming tonight and while Dave finished packing and getting his stuff over to the new house, I was babysitting Ophelia while the other girls were at school. Ophelia and I spent the morning coloring and then watched a movie with lunch. She was down for a nap when Dave called me.

"Hey you," I said after I answered.

"Hey gorgeous. How are things going with phee?" Dave asked.

"Good. She's down for a nap right now. She is snuggled up in my bed with the teddy bear you gave me," I replied.

"Aww well you guys should come by the house when she wakes up. I finished packing and got a van to move all this shit. I'm about to head over there and would love to see you two before you pick up the girls," Dave responded back with.

"I can do that. When is Jordyn picking them up tonight?" I asked.

"She's not," Dave replied

"What do you mean she's not?"

"She called me and said she'd be home tomorrow and would get the girls from school. She sounded drunk when she called. I know we had plans tonight but we can move them back a night. We'll eat pizza at the new house tonight and then we'll go to your place to sleep," Dave replied I sighed and rolled my eyes before I responded.

"Fine. I'll text you when we're on our way. Maybe we'll stop and get a basketball on the way over. I think she's up so I'll text you soon," I said.

We exchanged good byes and I hung up. I was kind of upset over having to cancel our date tonight but it wasn't a huge deal. I let Rumpel out and left the sliding door open while I went upstairs to see if Ophelia was awake. I found her sitting in bed rubbing her eyes. I told her we were going to go see daddy and she got excited. She started jumping on the bed as I changed out of my pj pants into my red skirt and a random black pair of high heels. I kept my black crop top on and put on my white fuzzy sweater. We both headed downstairs and we were greeted by Rumpel. I closed the back door and locked it, sent Dave a text, gave Rumpel some food and then Ophelia and I headed over to the new house. When we got there we headed inside and found the guys having a beer in the kitchen.

"Daddy!" Ophelia shouted and ran over to Dave. He looked over at us and bent down in time to pick her up when she got to him.

"Hey sweetie. Did you ahve fun this morning with Britt?" he asked her as we walked towards each other.

"Uh huh. She let me color and we played with rump and we walked him. We watched Frozen too," Ophelia replied. Dave put a hand on my lower back and we shared a quick kiss before he answered Phee.

"Sounds fun. Why don't you and Britt go pick which room you want while we finish our break and get the rest of the boxes inside. We can move your bed into it once you pick a room," Dave said. He put Ophelia down and she ran out of the kitchen area. I started to go after her but Dave grabbed my arm and pulled me back to him. He put a hand on the back of my neck and kissed me passionately.

"I still can't get use to this," Chris said as we pulled apart.

"I can't believe Taylor kept a secret for four months," Nate added and we all laughed.
