Dave stayed with Abby and I and things were kind of ok. Dave and I sadly spent Christmas apart. I understood why but it still hurt. He spent the night with Jordyn and the girls on Christmas eve so he could be there Christmas morning. Then he had to go to Vegas with Jordyn and her friends. Those two days sucked without him and not knowing what she was saying or doing. When Dave came home after Vegas and took me right upstairs and we didn't come out until the next day. It was now the day before New Years and I was making cookies in the kitchen when Abby walked in.
"What are you doing for new years eve boo?" she asked as I rolled out the dough.
"If Dave gets his way, I'll end up at 606. I don't want to go and cause even more problems though so who knows. Maybe I'll stay home and hang out with Rumpel," I replied. I turned around and looked under the table at the dog Dave had brought home on boxing day.
"You haven't left the house since we went out on that one night. Let him take you out. Get dressed up and go out," Abby said as she looked at the cookies on the table.
"I know but there's just so much to worry about. I know I shouldn't worry but if we go out and we're caught kissing or hugging or even holding hands by anyone, that would be the end of his life. I'm trying to work through everything mentally. It's an adjustment," I said. I turned around and sat down on the floor where I had been standing. Rumpel got up and came over to me.
"I get it. Things ok between you two though?" Abby asked as she took a cookie.
"I guess. Just kind of awkward at times. Not used to living together. It's an adjustment," I said.
"That I know. I've seen that man in his boxers more than I should have. I'm not complaining cause it's Dave," Abby said and we both laughed.
"I don't complain about seeing Taylor half naked all the time. Oh wait he's always half naked," I said back and we both laughed again.
"What are you two laughing about?" Dave asked as he came down the stairs.
"Nothing. Inside joke," Abby replied as I stood up.
"Oh ok. I'm going to go look at a place. Do you want to come with me babe?" Dave asked as I went back to what I was doing.
"I gotta finish the cookies or I would," I replied.
"I'll do that. Go get ready," Abby said.
She stood up and walked over to me. I gave her the rolling pin and then headed upstairs to get ready. I put on a white t-shirt with a black tank top over top and jeans. I put on a pair of black platform wedges with flowers on them and grabbed my white fuzzy sweater jacket and headed back down stairs. I put the sweater on and grabbed my purse as Dave stood up from the table and came over to join me as he texted. We headed to the car once he got a jacket on and headed to the house. I was looking out the window as Dave drove. I looked over at Dave when he grabbed my hand.
"You ok? You've been kind of quiet since everything happened and don't say it's an adjustment again. I get a lot happened and things are a little different now and we have a long road of obstacles ahead of us but we have each other," he asked. I smiled at him and nodded.
"I'm fine. Just...I keep thinking about everything and anything. I love being with you and having you around the house," I said
"But it's just different now. I get it. I'm coming into your own little space and making it half mine. Well maybe we can fix that today. I got a couple more places to see after this one if you're interested in coming to those with me," Dave said. I smiled at him before looking back out the window.
"Might as well. I'm going to be spending a lot of time there," I replied.
"You could just move in," Dave said as we pulled up outside a big house.
