Chapter 17

Star's P.O.V.

"THE BIG DAY IS FINALLY HERE FOLKS! THE GRAND MAGIC GAMES WILL BEGIN IN AWAY SHORTLY! THIS IS GOING TO BE A YEAR TO REMEMBER!!" The announcer yelled as the thousands of people here cheered and screamed loudly while I growled at all the loudness, covering my ears with my hands. "You ok Star?" Romeo asked me as I looked down at him with an irritated look while I rubbed my ears in pain. "This is one of the reasons why I hate the Grand Magic Games. All these loud ass people." I told Rome as he chuckled at me while I frowned slightly, but he couldn't see since my hood was on. "Haha! I guess you're right, but I have a question." Romeo said as he held up a finger while he tilted his head to the right slightly. "What is it?" I asked him as I glanced down at him while I gave him a confused look on my face. ".....Why are you giving Master a death glare? I mean look at him! He's shaking in his seat!" Romeo yelled as he pointed at Gramps, who was indeed shaking where he sat while blue lines were on his head. "No reason." I told Romeo as I shrugged my shoulders while I continued to glare daggers at Master. "Imma go with Gray and the others." I told him as I fell into the shadow lands then reappeared in Lucy's shadow while I looked at them with a small smirk. "You guys like ridiculous." I told them as I smirked slightly at them while they jumped in surprise at my voice. "Star!? What are you doing here?!" Lucy asked as she smiled at me while she took a step towards me. "It's too loud up there. Here it's actually pretty quiet." I told them as I leaned against the wall while I crossed my arms over my chest. The others looked forward towards the field with a serious look on their faces while I also looked at the bright end of the tunnel with a small frown. "The person who attacked Wendy....do you think they're taking part in the Games as well?" Natsu asked as I saw him clutch his fist tightly while I glared at the arena. "I'd say there's a big possibility." Lucy said as she frowned slightly while I blocked my dragon scent so Sting and Rouge wouldn't smell me. "You gotta wonder too if they did it to weaken our team or for some other reason." Gray said as he looked serious too while I nodded my head at him. "Keep your eyes on the prize for now. Winning this thing is the best way to get revenge for Wendy." Elfman said as he took a step forward while the others nodded their heads. "You guys can do it. Here." I told them as I hopped off the wall while I walked towards each of them to put on a small bracelet on their wrist. "What's this?" "Good luck charms. Before we came to Crocus, Wendy and I got these for good luck. Wear them with pride and revenge for Wendy." I told them as I slipped on the last one on Gray's wrist while he smiled slightly at me. "Thanks Star." "It's no problem. I also have one." I told Gray as I held up my wrist to show him my bracelet while I smiled slightly at him. The others smiled at me then turned back to the arena with a serious look while I glared a bit at the bright end. "Ready? Lets go." Natsu said as he walked forward first then Gray and finally everyone else began to walk towards the end of the tunnel while I smiled slightly at all of them. I walked to the edge of the tunnel but stayed hidden in the shadows while I looked at the team walk out towards the arena. "NOW! THE TIME HAS COME TO MEET OUR COMPETITORS! FIRST UP IN EIGHT PLACE! AN OLD SCHOOL BUNCH OF WILD WIZARDS FROM MAGNOLIA! THEY HAD LOOK AT THE PRELIMS AND NOW THEY'RE WEARING TO TAKE BACK FIRST PLACE BY FORCE! IT'S FAIRY TAIL!!" Chapati yelled as Natsu and the others walked out of the tunnel while Natsu held up his fist but everyone began to 'boo' them. I covered my mouth with my hand while I almost laughed at their reaction when the crowed booed them, it was priceless. "WHO WOULD'VE THOUGHT THEY'D MAKE IT THIS FAR?! AFTER LOSING EVERY YEAR! SECURING A SPOT IN THE PRELIMS WAS NO SMALL FEAST FOR THEM!!! WILL THE TENROU TEAM SENSATIONAL RETURN HELP FAIRY TAIL BECOME FIORES GREATEST GUILD?!" Chapati asked as I saw Natsu have an irritated look in his face while I saw Yajima give them a thumbs up. "I'm proud of them! Way to go kiddos! Now get out there and show them what you can do!" Yajima cheered as I smiled slightly at them while Yajima smiled at Natsu and the others. "CHEER TILL YOU BUST A LUNG!! HOORAY! HOORAY! FAIRY TAIL'S NUMBER ONE!!" I heard Master chant as I looked up at Fairy Tail's balcony in shock while Master fist bumped the air with both of his fists. 'Hold on is that?!' Sitting on the edge of Fairy Tail's balcony was a little girl with very long, wavy, pastel yellow-blonde hair that probably reaches down to her feet with a single lock pointing upwards. She had large green eyes that appear to have no irises in them peachy skin and a slight child-like build. She was wearing a frilly, pink layered robe with a red ribbon tied in a bow around her neck. Around the chest are three blue diamond patterns with two blue triangles above. Each series of these is outlined in a hot pink. She wears wing-like adornments around her ears and small hoop earrings she was also barefooted. 'THE FIRST MASTER IS HERE?!' I screamed in my head as I looked at her in shock while I heard Natsu laugh loudly. 'Well, at least she's here to cheer them on.' "NEXT UP!! THE TEAM THAT CAME IN SEVENTH PLACE IN THE PRELIMS! THE ROWDY ARTY OF HELL HOUNDS!! QUATRO CERBERUS!!" Chapati yelled as Quatro Cerberus walked out to the fields while they smirked slightly at the crowed. "AND! COMING IN SIXTH THE GUILD THAT RUNS THE BIG BLUE SEA!! MERMAID HEEL!!" Five girls that were surrounded by water walked out of a tunnel, one of them with a serious look on her face while the others gave the crowd a smile. "IN FIFTH PLACE! THE ACTUAL WINGS THAT GLIMMER IN THE DARK! IT'S BLUE PEGASUS!!" Hibkiki and the other flirts stroke a pose as they walked out of the tunnel while I shook my head at those three. "NEXT! IN FOURTH PLACE! THE GODS OF LOVE!! LAMIA SCALE!!" Lyon and his guild mates walked out as I heard their Master yelling at them about not losing or somewhere along those lines while I gave Lyon a small smile. I saw Lyon and Gray talking to one another while the other guilds began to talk as well. "NOW TO INTRODUCE OUR THIRD PLACE CONTESTANTS! WHAT A SHOCKER!! SWOOPING IN FROM A MIDNIGHT SNACK!! GIVE IT UP FOR RAVEN TAIL!!!" Once Chapati said their name, I immediately glared at them while I let some of my Ice Make Magic radiate off of me. "What the heck are they doing here?!?" I heard Natsu yell as he pointed at the Raven Tail members while I continued to glare at them. I looked over at Master Makarov only to see him fuming with anger while he clutched his fist tightly. 'Looks like Masters' son wants to toy around with Fairy Tail. Tch! He's got another thing coming to him.' I heard many murmurs go around saying that if Raven Tail was a dark guild and what not, but I continued to glare at them. "Well~ Their Records appear to be in order. They're an old guild. Officials sources state that they've been active over for seven years, but they were only recently approved for official guild status by the magic council." Chapati said as he looked over some papers while I shook my head at the paper work. "Mhm, if they have official status then they're technically not a dark guild and are therefore eligible to compete." Yajima said as he looked down at Raven Tail while I could feel Masters rage from all the way down here. 'Tch, sneaky bastards.' I gasped slightly as I saw that little animal's head turned into Wendy and pretend to die while I shook in anger, clutching my fist tightly. 'THOSE BASTARDS HURT WENDY!!!! THEY'RE GONNA PAY!!' I growled loudly as I clutched my hands tightly while Natsu looked at me since he heard me growling loudly. "HOOOLD ON! WE STILL GOT TWO TEAMS WHO MADE IT TO THE QUALIFYING ROUND!!" Chapati said as his voice boomed around the area while I rolled my eyes knowing that Sabertooth was one of the other two. 'Maybe the second team is possibly related to that whole Zeref thing Jellal was talking about.' "OUR FIRST PLACE RUNNER UP IS............OH WOW!! WHAT A SURPRISE!! THIS YEARS COMPETITION JUST GOT A WHOLE LOT MORE INTERESTING FOLKS!!" Chapati said as I turned to look at the arena while I began to fume in anger, glaring at the five people on the field. "IT'S FAIRY TAIL TEAM B!!" Chapati yelled as Fairy Tail B came out of the tunnel while the Fairy Tail emblem was in lighting, the sparks flying around them. 'Laxus.....Gajeel.....Juvia....Mira....THEY GOT INTO THE FUCKING GAMES AND I DIDN'T!?? THAT OLD MAN HAS A LOT OF EXPLAINING TO DO AFTER I BEAT HIS ASS!!' I growled even louder while I clutched my fist real tight, but then I looked closely and saw Mystogan there. 'What? That's not possible.' "Jellal." I called in my head as I looked at "Mystogan" in confusion while Jellal looked around for me which made me frown a bit at him. "I thought it was you. What are you doing in there? If they find out that you're you, they'll throw you back in jail! Idiot!" I yelled at him as I glared slightly at Jellal while I saw him still trying to find me, the other guilds complaining on us having two teams. "I thought by having this disguise I could get closer to knowing where Zeref is. Where are you anyways?" Jellal asked as he looked around the area while I sighed and shook my head at him. "Over here, look to your right." I saw Jellal turn to his right as I waved him down while he nodded to me. "You know! I think the newly implemented rules may have left our audience a bit perplexed Mr. Yajima, care to explain?" Chapati asked Yajima as he looked at Yajima while Yajima nodded his head. "Sure thing! The comedian charge of the Grand Magic Games permitted each guild to enter two teams which they felt would make the preliminaries more exciting." Yajima said as I glared at the Master up in the balcony while he shivered slightly, making me smirk. "HAHHA! YOU LIKE THAT?!?! THIS IS HOW THE FAIRY TAIL GUILD TAKES CARE OF BUSINESS BABY!!" Master yelled as he smirked down at the other guilds while the others cheered with Master. "I'm not sure the committee really thought this new rule through. I mean this is a team base composition. Won't having two teams from the same guild kinda stack the odds?" Chapati asked as he looked at Yajima while Yajima picked his nose, making me scrunch up my nose. "Mhm.....you worry to much. To be honest, I don't think it'd be a problem." Yajima said as he smiled slightly while that Blue Pegasus chick looked at him in anger. "Well it's totally unfair if you ask me. Lets say there's an event where each team chooses a member to compete against the others in a battle royal. There's nothing to stop the Fairy Tail members from teaming up with each other." Jenny said as she held her hand out while I smirked at her. 'And that's why Master did that. Tch, old man really likes to play dirty.' "It does give them an advantage, but I guess that's their reward for being the only guild out of over one hundred with two teams in the games!" Chapati said as he looked back at the other guilds while Yajima began to chuckle. "Hehe! You certainly have the upper hand! Way to go Maki!" "Maki?" "HAHAHAHAH!!" Master laughed like a mad man while I watched Natsu run up to Fairy Tail B as he glared daggers at them. "THIS IS A BIG LOAD OF CRAP!!" Natsu yelled which caused everyone to gasp while I smirked at him, shaking my head slightly. 'Knowing Natsu, he'll fight the other's with no problem.' "Being in the same guild don't mean jack! If I fight against any of you I'm not pulling any punches!! As long as we're in this tournament you're my enemies and I ain't gonna lose to any of you!!" Natsu yelled as he pointed at Fairy Tail B while Gajeel walked up to him with a smirk. "I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm looking forward to making ya eat dirt Salamander." Gajeel said as he took a step forward while Natsu glared at Gajeel. The Fairy Tail members on the arena were talking to the others trying to find out what was going on, but I continued to glare at the ground because there was two teams and I wasn't in any of them. 'Tch! Damn it now I'm in a bad mood because of Master.' I growled loudly as I punched the wall, making a huge dent in it while I saw a bit of blood on the wall. "You're such an idiot Jellal, you're not a Fairy Tail member and that's against the rules." "(Sigh) Erza was just telling me that. I can see that you're quite frustrated with this." Jellal said as I could hear the amusement in his voice while I growled out loud. "How could I not?!? I wanted to be in the fucking Games and Master didn't put me in!! Old Geezer!" I yelled in his head as I saw him move slightly to the right while he moved his hand to touch the side of his head. "No need to yell in my head." Jellal said in a calm voice as he side glanced where I was while I tried to calm down a bit. "If you're here, does that mean Merdy and Ultear are here as well?" I asked Jellal as I looked around for them while I tried to sniff Ultear and Merdy out. "Yes they're here, but far from the arena so they won't be noticed." I hummed a response as I leaned against the wall, closing my eyes while I tried to stay calm. "How's Wendy?" "Mhm? Oh she's fine I guess. Though she's really tired since they drained all of her and Carla's magic. Porlyusica is with her at the moment, creating the elixirs for them." I told Jellal as he hummed his answer while he turned to face his team mates. "AND LAST BUT CERTAINLY NOT LEAST IS THE TEAM THAT CAME IN FIRST PLACE IN THE PRELIMINARIES! THAT'S RIGHT! YOU KNOW THEM! YOU LOVE THEM! BETTER GET ON YOUR FEET AND SCREAM FOR THE MOST NUMBER ONE GUILD IN ALL OF FIORE!! THE ONE AND ONLY! SABERTOOTH!!" I growled slightly as I saw Sting and his team walk out to the field with his fist in the air like Natsu did while he smirked at the crowed. 'Note to self: Be sure to tease Sting with that.' Sting looked at the crowed with a cocky smirk while Rogue had his usual frown on his face. The girl, Yukino, had a shy look on her face as she walked out to the field while the guy with green hair also known as Orga was walking with a huge smirk on his face. The guy with the huge ass hat, Rufus, had his hat shadowing his eyes a bit while he had a slight frown on his face. The crowd was going wild for them, it freaken hurt my ears at how loud those people were screaming which made me flinch a bit. "ALL IN ALL I'D SAY WE HAVE AN IMPRESSIVE GROUP OF WIZARDS HERE! Any comments on our line up Mr. Yajima?" Chapati asked Yajima as he looked at him while Yajima looked down at all the wizards. "Yeaaa~ They make me envy of their youth." Yajima said as he sighed deeply while I laughed a little at him. "That's not quite what I meant." "Huh?" "We've kept everyone waiting long enough! It's about time we unveil the official schedule for this years tournament!" Chapati said as something came up from the ground in front of everyone while a huge brick wall was in front of them and it had the days and what not for the Games. "Each one of the rounds will begin with a contest! Participants will then be ranked from first to eighth place! The teams will be awarded points depending on how they rank in the contest! Additionally, the teams are allowed to select which of the members they want to compete! After that we have battles! These battle should come quite a treat to all you loyal fans! Since it was your suggestions that created these match ups! The battle rules are simple! Each team will square off as shown here! The winning teams will be awarded ten points while the losing teams get jack squat! In the case of draw! Both teams will be awarded five points! Ready for action?! Lets get things started with the first contest at the Grand Magic Games! One that we call Hidden!" Chapati said as the crowd went wild while I frowned slightly at this 'Hidden' game. "At this time! We'd like each team to select one member to compete! Once your selections are made! The rules will be explained in there entirely!" Chapati said as I looked at the groups to see who they would pick while I continued to listen to Chapati. "The first challenger has stepped forward! Representing Quatro Cerberus it's Yeager!" One of the dudes from Quatro Cerberus stepped up as he had a smirk on his face while he walked away from his team. "From Mermaid Hell! The adorable Beth Vanderwood!" A girl from Mermaid Heel also stepped up with a kind smile while she moved away from her team as well. "From Raven Tail! Nullpudding!" I glared at the Raven Tail member as I growled at Nullpudding while he had an evil smirk on his face. "Blue Pegasus sends out! Eve Tilm! Gotta love those lively cheers!" I smile slightly since I know those three dumb guys, Eve is such a nice guy it's hard to imagine him fighting so brutally. "Keep your eyes open for this one folks! From Sabertooth the man who sings to the red moon! Rufus Lore!" I growled at Sabertooth as Rufus took off his hat and smirked a little while I clutched my fist tightly. "From Lamia Scale! Lyon Vastia!" I sighed slightly as I shook my head at Lyon while he had a small smile. "From Fairy Tail Team A! The icy Gray Fullbuster!" I almost laughed at what Chapati said about Gray but shook my head at the two males while I looked at them glaring at each other. "From Fairy Tail Team B! Juvia Lockser!" I face palmed as I saw Juvia looking at Gray with heart eyes while I sighed at those three. 'They're done for......those idiots!' "The competitives have been chosen and the long wait is finally over! Grab a refreshment and get clued to your seats cause you're not gonna wanna miss a single moment of Hidden!" Chapati yelled as I looked out to the group that's playing Hidden while I looked at them with a slight frown. "Now! Will each teams participants in the Hidden Game kindly step forward!" Mato yelled as I looked at Gray while he walked towards Mato with a serious look on his face. "Tell him I said good luck, Lucy." I told Lucy as she nodded her head while she smiled in my direction before she turned to look at Gray. "Star says good luck Gray!!" Lucy yelled as she cupped her hands over her mouth while Gray looked over at the tunnel and nodded his head at me with a slight smirk. "You better not lose Snowflake! Ya here me pal?! We're better than Gajeel's Team and those Saberjerks and Raven ahh-" "YOU GOTTA HIDE AND SEEK LIKE A REAL MAN!!" I chuckled slightly at Natsu and Elfman while I looked at Nullpudding as he stared at Gray, smirking slightly at Gray. 'He's planning something. I can smell it.' My face darkens slightly as I looked at Nullpudding while he rubbed his hands under his cape. "There are three questions on everyone's minds! First and for most just what kind of game will Hidden be and who would you say is the favorite in this mysterious competition?" Chapati asked Yajima as Yajima smirked slightly while he looked down at the arena. "Mhm~ It's safe to assume that Rufus of Sabertooth is probably the odds on favorite, but Gray from Fairy Tail is a dark horse in the running." Yajima said as I cover my mouth with my hand to sniffle my laugh while I let out a few chuckles. "Lets ask today's special guest, Miss. Jenny Realight, from Blue Pegasus." "My fav....I'll be rutting for Eve of course. He's got this in the bag." Jenny said as she smirked down at Eve while I sighed and crossed my arms over-under my chest. "What was your other question Chapati?" Yajima asked as he looked over to Chapati while Chapati smiled at Yajima. "Where or where could Star Mayweather be? She has always participated in these Games! Where could she be?!" I glared at Chapati as I felt a dark aura surround me while I saw Sting smirking at them, since he knew I couldn't participate in the Games. "I'm guessing Maki wanted to put the Tenrou Team in the Games to give them a chance to see what they've missed over the seven years since their return. I wonder how Star is handling not being able to be in the Games this year." Yajami said as I growled loudly while I punched the brick wall again, making my fist bleed slightly. "Ohh! I do hope she makes an appearance! She is my favorite Ice Make Wizard! Her fights with Sting are one of the most exciting fights I have ever seen! And it's even better, considering that she's only an Ice Make Wizard and she survived this long in the fights with Sting!" Chapati said as he began to dance in his seat while I frowned deeper at them. "Yes, their fights are always intriguing. She is a strong Ice Make Wizard, and if I'm not mistaken, she was taught under Gray Fullbuster when she was a child, before he left." Yajima said as my mood slightly went better while I smiled softly at Yajima. "Really?! That's cool! So Gray is Star's Master? I wonder after that seven year cape, do they still have that Master, Pupil, bond they had a couple years ago?" Chapati asked as I furrowed my eyebrows slightly while I frowned down at the ground. 'Do we even have that same bond? I mean, he's protective when we were out on a mission but that's nothing.....right' "Well, hopefully we'll get to see her here in the stands cheering for her friends." Chapati said as I frowned slightly while I looked over at Sting and saw him looking at the tunnel where I was, smirking at me. I glared at him as I gritted my teeth in anger while I clutched my fist tightly, he knew I was here! 'Asshole!' I looked over at Gray and Juvia and saw Lyon near them, smirking while Lyon looked at Juvia with hearts in his eyes. "You know before we start, I got one question I've been dying to ask..... What are you?" I heard Gray ask Mato as he bent down a bit to look at Mato while Mato looked at him in shock. "Eh? Who me?! My silly boy! I'm a pumpkin...as you can plainly see." Mato said as he fidgeted around a bit while I saw little bits of sweat running down his mask. "Sorry. Was I not suppose to ask you that or something?" Gray asked Mato as he stood up straight while Juvia leaned in a bit towards Mato. "Well he certainly looks like a pumpkin to me?" "Well duh! Of course he looks like a pumpkin on the outside, but what's in there?" Gray said, leaning a little more closely to Mato as he narrowed his eyes a bit while Mato jumped away from Gray. "He's always been a big part in the Games. So I guess I never really thought about it." Eve said as he walked up to Gray while he did a small cute smile. 'Guess I should go yell at Master for not telling me about another team. Heh!' I smirked evilly as I dropped into the shadows and reappeared in Jake's shadow while I glared at the back of Masters head. "Master." I called his name in anger as he and the other guild members shivered in fear while I saw blue lines on their temple. "S-S-St-Star?!" Master cried out as he slowly turned his head towards me, eyes completely black with fear while I walked towards him in a dangerous manner. "You had a second team and you didn't even tell me?!" I yelled at him as my Ice Magic radiated off of my body while I stopped right in front of Master, my fist clutched tightly. "I'M SORRY!! I'M SORRY!! I'M SORRY!! DON'T KILL ME!!" Master yelled as he bowed repeatedly on the balcony, hitting his head on the brick while a dark aura surrounded me. "Looks like our favorite Ice Make Wizard, Star Mayweather, did make an appearance after all! And boyyy does she look mad!!" Chapati said over the intercom as he looked over at me while I glared at him then turned my attention back to Master. "Looks like Makarov is going to die sooner than I thought." Yajima said as he shook his head, sighing slightly while I smirked at Master, cracking my knuckles. "Don't worry." "Huh?" I looked at the first Master in confusion as she smiled at me while I raised my eyebrow at her. "You'll get your chance if someone gets hurt!" Mavis said as she did a closed eye smile, flowers surrounding her while I gave off a dark aura. I slowly walked up to her in a scary way as she looked up at me with confusion written all over her face then once I was in front of her, I flicked her hard on the forehead while she shut her eyes tightly in pain. "DO YOU THINK I WANT TO BE A REPLACEMENT FOR SOMEONE?!" I shouted at her as she held her forehead in pain while she had little tears in the corner of her eyes. "Tch, Idiot." I rolled my eyes at her as I crossed my arms over my chest while I glared down at the arena. "Open field!" I looked towards the field as a town began to appear around the arena while the ground began to shake slightly. "Whoa! They can fit an entire city right in the middle of the arena?!" Happy yelled as he held his paws up in the air with an aw look while his eyes popped out a bit. "I've never seen anything like it before." Master said in awe as I looked at Gray, who had his mouth wide open making me laugh slightly. 'This must of produced a lot of magic power to create a town like this. Maybe this is what we're feeling, maybe this is what Jellal and I feel every year.' "Those of you in the stadiums can catch all the exciting action in the crystal clear Lacrima Vision! I bet the eight contestants in the arena wish they had that luxury, but that would make it too easy! Speaking of easy! Here are the rules of the Game! All of the players are hiding and seeking at the same time! The main objective of Hidden is to locate the other players! Once you've done that! You'll have to land an attack on them! The player that successfully connects their attacks, whether or not it does any damage, will then be awarded one point!" Chapati said as a bright light shined in the arena while there was clones of the people who were playing Hidden. 'Heh, this'll be tricky for them. Not knowing who is the right person and then attack them, then losing a point. Knowing Juvia, she'll try to do something with the many Grays all around her.' "I know they're pretty! But those copies aren't just for show folks! Attack one of your fake competitors by mistake and it'll cost you one point! It's time to disappear like a black cat in a dark ally way! Let's play Hidden!" Chapati yelled as someone banged a bong while we saw the participants looking for their opponents. I looked at all of the competitors on the screen and saw Juvia have hearts in her eyes while having her arms stretched out, running towards a fake Gray. "And with that bear hug attack! Juvia, from Fairy Tail B! Loses one point! She will be put into a ten second time out and then forced to start again from another part of the arena! Same goes if you get attacked by another player! One point off, ten second time out, then start from another area!" Chapati said as I could hear Gajeel calling Juvia an idiot for doing something stupid while Juvia got transported to another area. 'Called it.' "You are allowed as many restarts as you need, but the clock is ticking! The Game will last for thirty minutes and of course! Whoever has the most points at the end! Takes first place!" Chapati said as I saw Gray running around the streets, trying to find his opponents while he looked out for anyone that might be targeting him. 'Hopefully Gray can get his team some points. To be honest, since Raven Tail is in there they'll most likely target the two Fairy Tail Teams. I know for a fact that Ivan wants to make Fairy Tail lose.'
