Jessica's POV
"So, what exactly are we meant to talk about?" Simon asks as he leans back, so his back is against the wall behind us. "Anything, really." I shrug, not really knowing what to talk about myself. "So you don't even know yourself." He chuckles slightly. "So?" I question as I look over at him. He shrugs, "I just think it's funny that you wanna talk, but you don't know what to talk about." "Well, what do you wanna talk about?" I ask. "I don't know. I just wanna do something, you know." He says. I sigh, "Like what?" I ask. "Anything, really." He shrugs. I get up and stand in front of him. "Let's do something then, just to shut you up." I chuckle. He stands up, making me look up at him, "Finally." He smiles down at me.
An idea springs to mind; what if I just act like a total twat/kid?
I push him, making him fall back onto the bench. "What the actual-" "No swearing." I laugh. "No one's here though." He says as he stands back up. "True I guess." I shrug. "Why'd you do that?" He asks. "You wanted to do something..." I mention. "What are you im-" I cut him off by pushing him again before running off. "This is doing something! Catch me!" I laugh as I run out the gym.
I hear fast footsteps coming up behind me, making me quicken my pace. I run outside onto the school's field. I turn back for a split second to see him actually running towards me, making me laugh like a little kid. "Told you I'm quick, mate!" I shout as I make a sharp left turn. "Yeah, but I'm quicker." He says before grabbing onto my waist. I laugh even harder as he lifts me up. "Fucking hell!" I laugh as he puts me back down. "You told me to catch you, so I did." He says as I turn to face him. "True, true." I say with a small smile.
We just stand there, breathlessly in the middle of the school's field. His arms hang loosely around my waist. I want him to get off, but I don't want to break the silence.
"Um, Simon." I mutter quietly. "Yeah?" He asks in the same tone. "Your arms..." I mumble as I point to them. He looks at them, "Sorry." He says as he unwraps his arms from around me, making my waist feel slightly colder than the rest of my body. "It's fine." I smile up at him.
"We should head back in..." I mutter as I feel myself start to shiver. "Oh, yeah." He says. We then make our way back inside to the gym.
