Morning; At School

Jessica's POV

"Layla, what's wrong?" I ask as we walk down the corridor. Her facial expression; emotionless. "Nothing." She mutters quietly. "Yes there is. Please tell me." I beg as I stand in front of her, making her stop walking. I grab her arms, making her look up at me. "I just..." She begins. "What?" I question. "Me and the others have never heard of this Simon guy. The only Simon we know is Mr. Minter..." She trails off. "Wait? You think I'm dating Mr. Minter?!" I ask, shocked. "No, not at all." She defends herself. "Then what?" I ask harshly. "How come we've never heard of him, until now?" She asks. I sigh, "I don't know Lay..." I mutter quietly.

"Are you going round his tonight?" She asks. I shake my head. "No, my mum wants me home tonight." I say as we continue walking towards class. "Are you going to introduce him to your mum?" Layla asks. I shrug, "If he wants to meet her, then yeah, why not." "I wanna meet him..." Layla huffs. "I told you, at graduation. It's only a few weeks away now." I say, rolling my eyes slightly. Why is she so desperate to meet him? Even though they already know each other.

"Anyway, enough chatting, we're going to be late." I say as I notice the corridor is nearly empty. "You're right." Layla mutters. I grab her arm and drag her quickly towards lesson, so we're not that late.

Layla's POV

"Finally, time for lunch." Jessica mutters as we walk out of IT (computer studies) together. "Yay." I cheer sarcastically as we walk along the sea of students in our year and the year below towards the small lunch hall. "Cheer up Lay, babes." Jessica smiles at me. "I'll try, Jess babes." I mumble back. We both break out into laughter after a small, two second pause.

"I still can't believe that we're graduating soon." Jessica mutters as we sit down in our usual seats in the lunch hall. "And on your birthday." I point out. "Fuck, I know." Jessica gasps. "You'll be eighteen. That's bare old mate." I laugh. "Rude." She scoffs. "Joking. I'm going to eighteen a few days later." I smile widely at her. "Then we can go clubbing!" Jessica cheers. I laugh, "No thanks." "Why not?" She asks. "It doesn't interest me. I'd rather go to university, honestly." I explain. "Ah, fair enough." Jessica nods in approval.
