Little Time Skip...

Jessica's POV

Whilst Simon is busy marking his younger students work, I'm just sat on his bed, with my headphones in, listening to my favorite song; Alphabet Boy by Melanie Martinez. Melanie Martinez is one of my favorite artists at the moment. She's different; she's adorable, her songs tell a story, and I just love her.

I begin, what I believe I'm doing; humming along with the song. But, in reality, I'm singing along...

"Always aiming paper airplanes at me, when you're around.

You build me up like building blocks, just so you can bring me down.

You can crush my candy cane, but you'll never catch me cry.

If you dangle that diploma and I dead, you don't be surprised."

"I know my ABC's, yet you keep teaching me.

I say fuck your degree, alphabet boy.

You think you're smarter than me, with all your bad poetry.

Fuck all your ABC's, alphabet boy."

"I'm not a little kid now.

Watch me get big now.

Spell my name on a fridge now, with all your alphabet toys.

You won the spelling bee now.

But are you smarter than me now?

You're the prince of the playground, little alphabet boy."

Just as I'm about to start the next line, I look over at Simon to see him looking over at me, with a smile. I take my headphones off; "Yes?" I ask. "You were singing." He smiles at me. "I-I was?" I ask, fumbling over my words slightly. "Mhm." He hums with a nod. "Sorry." I mutter. "Don't be sorry." He says as he walks over to me. "But you're trying to work, and I distracted you." I state as he sits next to me. "It doesn't matter. I can finish that some other time." He says before kissing my cheek. "Okay." I nod before hugging him, causing us to fall back onto the bed.

We both laugh hysterically. "I love you, baby." Simon says in-between laughs. "I love you too." I giggle as I straddle his waist. He sits up and wraps his arms around my waist. I instinctively wrap my arms around his neck. We just look into each others eyes in a comfortable silence.

Simon's POV

I glance briefly at the time on my phone; "Baby." I whisper breaking the silence between us. "Hmm?" She hums. "It's nearly 10PM... And you have school tomorrow." I mutter. "So?" She questions. I chuckle quietly, "Go to bed. Get some rest." I say before kissing her forehead. "Only if you do to." She says with a small smile. I nod, "Okay."

Jessica jumps off my lap and quickly climbs into bed, like a little kid, making me laugh. I grab the things I usually wear in bed; a pair of grey joggers. I walk into the bathroom and quickly get changed. I throw my dirty clothes into the wash basket before walking back into the bedroom. I then climb into bed, next to Jessica.

She immediately cuddles right up to me, making me smile widely. She rests her head on my chest. I wrap my arm around her waist, pulling her closer to me. "Goodnight, beautiful." I mutter quietly as I turn my light off. "Night, baby boy." She mutters back.

Almost immediately, we both fall asleep.
