Small Time Skip

Vik's POV

"Right, after class, I want to talk to some of you..." I say to everyone. I make eye contact with Jessica. I can tell she knows what I'm doing. I pretend to get up a list of people on my computer. "Oh, never mind... I only want to talk to you, Jessica." I say, acting like I'm scanning across the names on the 'list'. "Okay." She nods in response. "Now, do your coursework, guys." I smile as I stand up and make my way to the front of the class. Everyone nods before rushing to a computer, or to the studio to take photos or to edit photos.

Jessica waves me over. "Yes?" I ask once I'm close enough to her. "We need to talk, like right now." She says quietly. "Come with me then." I whisper to her. She gets up and follows me out. "Carry on guys!" I yell as I notice people looking at what is happening. They quickly get back to doing their work.

Me and Jessica walk down the corridor, so we're far away from the classroom. "What?" I ask. "Layla said she's going to wait for me, after class..." She says, slightly panicked. "I can get her to go, trust me." I say, placing my hands on her shoulders. "You sure?" She asks. "Mhm." I hum. "Okay, but be warned... She's stubborn." Jessica says, looking into my eyes. I chuckle, "So am I." "And I bet JJ knows it as well." She says, raising an eyebrow. "Shut up." I sass, making her laugh. "True though, isn't it." She says as we slowly make our way back to the classroom. "I guess..." I shrug.

Jessica's POV

We walk back in and I quickly rush back to my seat, next to Layla. "What was that about?" She asks. "Something private." I say, lying through my teeth. "Oh, fair enough." Layla shrugs.

For the rest of the lesson, we don't talk to each other. Heck, we don't even make eye contact with one another. "Does she not believe me?" I mentally ask myself as I begin sticking in some photos that I've recently taken into my work book.

"Of you go then guys!" Vik says as he looks at the time on his computer screen. Everyone, except me, quickly grabs their things before rushing out the classroom. I watch as Layla walks out with some girls, and guys, I've never spoken to before. I watch through the glass of the door as she disappears into the sea of people, desperate to get out. "She's gone..." I mumble. "That's good, surely?" Vik questions. "I guess... But..." I begin. "But what?" He asks as he sits next to me. "I have a feeling she thinks I'm lying to her." I mutter. "What did you tell her?" He asks. "I told her that I was taking to you about something private." I say, honestly. "She'll get over it, trust me." He says, pulling me into a quick, small side hug. "Yeah?" I question. "Yeah." He says, flashing me a warm smile.

"I told Simon to come in here, by the way." Vik says as he stands back up. "Okay." I nod with a smile. "He told me you're staying the night..." He trails off. "Yeah, is that an issue?" I ask. "Not at all." He smiles. "Why do you wanna stay the night? I'm curious." Vik asks as he turns to look at me. "Having troubles at home." I state. "Family issues?" He asks. "You could say that." I say. "Explain when you come round, okay?" He says, looking me dead in the eye. I nod, "Will do."
