Small Time Skip

Jessica's POV

"Time for the performances!" Mr. Clark cheers, smiling widely at everyone. That's the one thing I hate about music... You have to perform in front of everyone in the class in order to pass. "So, who wants to go first?" Mr. Clark asks as he scans is emerald green eyes across the class. My breath hitches as he stares at me with a small smirk. "Jessica, would you like to go first?" He asks. I tense up as everyone looks at me. "No, thanks." I say shakily. Mr. Clark sighs, "Fine..." "Mitch, what about you?" He asks as he points to Mitch who's sat next to me. "Sure." Mitch says with a confident smile. Mr. Clark smiles widely, "Excellent."

"What're you going to sing for us then, Mitch?" Mr. Clark asks as he gets ready to put the song on. "I Hate U. I Love U. By, Gnash." Mitch says with a small nod. Mr. Clark nods back as he puts the song on. "Now, quiet everyone!" Mr. Clark says sternly, making everyone be quiet.

"Feeling used,

But I'm,

Still missing you,

And I can't see the end of this,

Just wanna feel your kiss, against my lips.

And now all this time, is passing by,

But I still can't seem to tell you why

It hurts me every time I see you.

Realize how much I need you..."

"I hate you, I love you,

I hate that I love you.

Don't want to, but I can't put nobody else above you.

I hate you, I love you,

I hate that I want you.

You want her, you need her,

And I'll never be her."

"Well done Mitch!" Mr. Clark cheers. Everyone in the room claps. I sometimes hate it when Mitch sings, because he's too fucking good, and I'm shit compared to him. It honestly lowers my confidence. Too prove I'm average at singing to myself, I'm going to go next.

"So, who wants to go next?" Mr. Clark asks. I quickly raise my hand, "I will!" I shout out. Everyone looks at me, like I'm crazy or something. "Come on up then Jessica." Mr. Clark says in shock. I swiftly make my way up to the front. I take deep breaths as I turn around to face everyone properly. It's rare that I perform in front of people, probably because I hate being judge by others, but I'm going to try and get rid of this fear.

I look over at the door to see a lot of teachers stood there, including Simon, JJ, Vik and Ethan. "Great..." I mutter quietly to myself. Did Mr. Clark text every fucking teacher to come see me?! "What're you going to be singing for us, Jessica?" Mr. Clark asks, snapping me out of my mini thought process. "Rockabye. By, Clean Bandit." I say, glancing over at him. Mr. Clark nods, "Okay." He smiles.

He then hits the play button...
