Simon's POV

"I'm home!" I shout as I close the front door behind me, before quickly taking off my shoes. "Welcome home, finally." Josh - my roommate - says as he walks towards me from the lounge. "Where's Vik and Jide?" I ask, wondering why I've not heard from them. "They're out." Josh smiles. "Oh." I nod. "On a date..." Josh adds. "Really?!" I say in shock. "Yes. Jide finally asked Vik out." Josh smiles. "Awe." I coo. "What time will they be back then?" I ask as we make our way into the kitchen. "I don't know. Probably around 10." Josh says as he sits around the kitchen table. "Okay." I nod as I grab a bottle of water from out the fridge.

"How's work then?" Josh asks as I sit next to him. "Great, actually." I smile. "Good." Josh smiles back. "How's your day been then?" I ask. "I've got a new job." He smiles widely at me. "Awesome! Where at?" I cheer/ask. "At the cafe, around the corner from where you work." He says. "Great." I chuckle. "Do I get a free coffee every morning then?" I ask sarcastically. Josh raises an eyebrow at me, "maybe." He chuckles. "Yay." I laugh.

"Anyway, anything new happen at all this week?" Josh asks. I freeze, not knowing what to say. "Simon?" "Hm?" I ask. "Anything new happen this week?" He asks again, as if I didn't hear the first time. "Um, no. Not really." I shake my head. "Oh." Josh sighs. "Yeah..." I mumble. "Anyway, I've got work to be marking. Talk later yeah?" I say as I quickly stand up. "Sure." Josh smiles. I nod before quickly rushing off to my room, making sure to close the door behind me.

"He can't know. No one can. Not yet." I mutter as I flop onto my bed.

For the rest of the evening, Simon just stayed on his bed, looking up at his ceiling, doing nothing.

"Why don't I believe him?" Josh muttered to himself as he made some food before going to bed. "When I asked, he froze, like he was scared of something." Josh says as he places the now cooked slices of bacon on one of the pieces of bread. "Hm, I don't know." He shrugs as he places the other slice of bread on top, making a delicious bacon sandwich before bed.

"I'll talk to him sometime about it." Josh says just before taking a huge bite out of his sandwich as he makes his way to his bedroom.
