Jessica's POV
I quickly rush upstairs and grab my bag. I make sure everything is in it. "Fuck sake..." I mutter as I quickly grab the rest of my gym kit before rushing downstairs. "Let's go!" I yell as I shove my gym kit into my bag quickly. "Okay!" Layla yells back as she emerges from the lounge. I swiftly open the front door and walk out; Layla follows closely behind. I then close and lock the door behind us before walking down the drive, onto the path that leads to school.
"I feel like its been ages since we've last spoke." Layla says as we link arms. "I know." I sigh as I glance over at her. "I've missed you, bestfriend." She says with a smile. "Missed you too, dork." I giggle. "Rude." She laughs. "Nah, just true." I laugh hysterically. She pretends to be hurt, making me laugh more. "Only joking babes." I say as I calm down. "Better be." She says, trying to be serious. "I am." I chuckle.
"So, describe this Simon guy to me." Layla says with a small smirk. "Well, he's extremely tall. Got beautiful, piercing blue eyes. The most adorable smile and laugh ever. He's super sweet. And, well, he's just perfect to me." I say with a wide smile. "Awe, cute." Layla giggles. "I can't wait to meet him." Layla says as we walk behind a group of girls that go to our school. "And I can't wait for you to." I say, despite the fact she knows him, very well.

Before I know it, I'm walking into the flooding school building. Students of all ages scurry through the corridors, desperate to get to lesson. Some students shove and push others out the way, like they own the place. "Urgh, people are so rude." I scoff as me and Layla walk towards first lesson, science. "In what way?" She asks. "People just keeping pushing and shoving others out the way, like they own the place. It's very rude." I explain. "I know." Layla says, agreeing with me.
Soon enough, we're outside Mr. Payne's science lab. "I fucking hate science." I groan, making Layla laugh. "You say that all the time, Jess." She giggles. "It's true though." I sigh.
The door flies open to reveal Mr. Payne. "Come in everyone." He says. We all nod and walk inside. I let go of Layla's arm and head over to my seat. Layla sits in her seat, close to me. "I wanna go home." I huff. Layla chuckles, "Why?" She asks. "I feel... Gross." I mutter. "You'll be fine." She says. "Whatever you say, mum." I mutter. She glares at me, making me laugh. "I love you really." I chuckle. "You're lucky that I love you too." She says, making me laugh more. "Mhm, sure." I say.
Meanwhile...
Simon's POV
Me, JJ and Vik are sat in my office, just chatting as we all have a free period. "So, how's Jess?" Vik asks. "She says she feels gross..." I begin. "I told her to come in, and if she feels worse, I'll take her home." I say. Vik nods. "Back to hers or ours?" JJ asks. "Ours, more likely." I say. JJ nods, "Okay."
