Next Day

Simon's POV

I watch the girls as they jog around the field, like JJ asked them to. I notice Jessica walking half the time, which had me slightly concerned as she usually does as she's told. I should know that. JJ just stands there and watches; occasionally shouting at them to move it if they walk, followed by them groaning and complaining.

I watch as Jessica just walks, not seeming to want to do anything. "Jessica! Move it!" JJ yells. She rolls her eyes and carries on walking. "Jessi-" "Bro, I'll talk to her." I sigh as I jog over to her.

"Jessica, come here a sec." I say, waving her over. She sighs as she walks over towards me. "What's wrong?" I ask once she's close enough. She sighs, "Nothing." "Tell me, Jess." I say, making eye contact with her. She moves in slightly closer, "Layla heard us yesterday." She whispers. My eyes widen, "R-really?" I stutter. She nods, "But, I said it wasn't us." She says with a small smile. "Oh." I hum. "See, Layla will believe anything you say." Jessica says, chuckling slightly. "That's good, I guess." I say with a smile. "Indeed it is." She smiles back. "Anyway, why aren't you not doing anything, Jess?" I ask as I stand up properly. "Don't feel like it." She sighs. "Tough really." I say, crossing my arms. "It's partially your fault, sir." She says with a small smirk. "How is it?" I ask. "You're very distracting, you know." She says as she quickly scans my body up and down. "Not in front of everyone, please." I say quietly, but loud enough for her to hear. "Later though." She smirks. "Of course." I say with a smirk that only she can see. "Good." She says before joining the others.

JJ walks over to me. "What's wrong with her then?" He asks. "Just having a bad day, that's all." I say, completely lying. "Oh, okay." JJ nods before walking over to the girls. Luckily for me, JJ believes anything you say. I guess you can say that him and Layla have something in common. I chuckle at that thought, making everyone look at me. "What?" I ask, like I was doing nothing. "You laughed, sir." One of the girls, Poppy says. I shrug, "Is that not allowed?" I ask. "No, it is, it's just that you rarely do laugh, sir." She says. I sigh, "Well, maybe I don't like laughing." I say randomly. "You're miserable, sir." Layla says, making everyone - including JJ - laugh. "I'm not that miserable." I say walking over to them. "You are, mate." JJ says with a chuckle. "Shut up, dickhead." I say as I shove him, jokingly. "Sir, you can't say that." Another girl, Laura, says. "Why not?" I ask, raising an eyebrow. "It's not nice to call someone that, you know." Jessica says, raising an eyebrow at me. "Oh, really?" I ask, turning to face her. She nods, "Indeed, sir."

"Guys, if you want a full length conversation about it, see me after school." I say as I hug myself, as it's freezing outside.

"Anyway guys, you may go." JJ says with a smile. All the girls cheer as they rush inside, closely followed by JJ. I notice that Jessica is still outside, smirking at me. I smile as I shake my head. "Come on then." I say as we begin walking in.

"We're going to have that 'conversation', sir." She says; saying the word 'conversation' in air quotes. "Oh, really." I smirk down at her. She nods, "Mhm." She hums. "Can't wait." I say as we walk inside, where it's lovely and warm.

"See you later, Simon." She says with a smirk. "Indeed, Jessica." I smile at her. I watch as she disappears into the changing rooms. I sigh as I make my way to my office.
