Layla's POV

"You've been in a good mood lately." I say to Jessica as we sit inside the lunch hall. "I have?" She asks as she gets her lunch out of her bag. I nod, "Yeah, anything new happen?" I ask as I to, get my lunch out of my bag. She shakes her head, "Nope." She says, popping the 'p'. "Oh." I hum. "What about you?" She asks. "What about me?" I question. "Anything new happen with you?" She asks. "Not really, no." I sigh. "Wow, we're boring people." Jessica chuckles. "Indeed." I nod whilst chuckling. "Do you have to stay behind again?" I ask. She nods, "Mhm." She hums. I sigh, "That sucks." "Not really, actually." She states. "How so?" I ask. "I don't have to do work." She smiles. "Oh. What do you do then?" I ask, intrigued. "Just talk to Mr. Minter, that's all." She shrugs. "He doesn't try anything, does he?" I ask, recalling the times he tried basically fucking her. She shakes her head, "No." "Good." I say.

The conversation dies down, as we focus more on eating our lunch before next lesson which is science with Mr. Payne.

Jessica's POV

"Urgh, science." I groan as we - me and Layla - walk towards class. She chuckles, "It's not that bad." She says. "It is if you don't understand it, Lay." I state, making her laugh. "Well, I like it." She smiles. "That's because you're a science nerd." I laugh. "True." She sighs. I pull her into a side hug, "Only messin' Lay." "I know." She smiles.

We soon arrive outside Mr. Payne's class. "Let's do this then." I sigh as we walk in. Layla chuckles, "Again, it's not that bad, Jess." She says. "You tell yourself that." I say as I sit down in my seat. "I wi-" "Girls." Mr. Payne says, cutting Layla off. "Yes?" We ask in unison. "We're having a test. Don't sit together please." He says as he writes something on board. Layla sighs, "See you after class." "See ya." I smile sympathetically.

Eventually, everyone walks into class, making sure not to sit near anyone as it's a test. "This should take you the whole lesson." Mr. Payne explains as he hands out the test paper, which I know I'm going to fail. "Don't rush it." He says as he mainly looks at me. I sigh, "Fuck this..." I mutter quietly. "Excuse me Jessica?" Mr. Payne says in a rather rude tone. "What?" I ask like I did nothing wrong. "Get out and see Mr. Minter." He says pointing to the door. "Why Mr. Minter?" I ask as I grab my things. "Because that's where Mr. Barn is as well." He says. I sigh, "Whatever." I then walk out the class and make my way to Mr. Minters office.
