Travelling back to when the world was at its worst, back to when all hell broke loose was crazy. All three of them could agree on that one. Rufus pressed the correct buttons and spun the right dials and they were set to leave for 1943. They buckled in and kept a tight grip on the edges of their sears, praying for a soft and safe landing.
Unfortunately for them praying wasn't good enough, in fact this was their worst landing yet. Imagine going full speed then crashing, yeah, that's how it felt. The time ship shook violently almost throwing Lucy clean out of her seat. Wyatt, who already hated travelling the the time ship had faded a greenish colour as he felt the machine whirl through time, spitting them up in 1943.
As soon as Rufus unlocked the door, Wyatt stumbled out and was bent over throwing up in no time. Rufus helped Lucy down, taking her hand and singling a backpack over his shoulder. Lucy walked over to Wyatt patting his back in sympathy, cringing at the mess he made and the stench coming from it. But she knew how he felt.
All three of them jumped when they heard an explosion, Wyatt moved quick to shield Lucy from whatever was trying to blow them up. Lucy blushed but shooed him out of her view.

"It's fine, we're in world war two, there is supposed to be explosions," Lucy informed them, glancing around, searching for any Nazi's or anyone wanting to kill them. "Half of the worlds at war with each other, this might just be one of our most dangerous mission yet."

"So find Flynn then get the hell out of here, got it," Wyatt nodded, dusting down his clothes and looking north. "You'd best get your guns ready!"

Rufus groaned, he hated violence, but with Wyatt and this war, everything was violent. He pulled two pistols out from his back pockets, holding one out for Lucy, who looked like he'd just handed her a bomb. She shook her head.

"I'm not going to use that."

"Take the damn gun Lucy! At any minute someone could start shooting!" Wyatt hissed, he'd been in a war before and if he learnt one thing, it was that no one is hidden for long.
Lucy moaned but took hold of the gun warily, not even sure how to hold it, let alone use it. Rufus gave her a light tug so that she was between him and Wyatt, meaning she was most protected. Another explosion went off, this time closer and causing a piercing sound through their ears, soon after that a round of gunshots went off. Making the three freeze. A man fell out from the cornfield, both him and Wyatt raising their guns at one another when they spotted each other. Lucy slammed her eyes closed holding Wyatts shoulders, resting her head on his shoulder waiting to hear the ear wrenching shot. But no shot fired. The man who'd fell from the cornfield let out a sigh of relief and lowered his gun seeing Wyatt's uniform.

"Thank god," sighed the soldier as he approached them, Wyatt took a chance and lowered his weapon, seeing no threats from the man before him. "I thought everyone was dead, they just blew up most of our men, its lucky I went for a whizz."

Lucy opened her eyes, guessing it was safe seem as she heard no gunshot, but she still scanned Wyatt for any damage and let out a breath, looking over her shoulder at Rufus to check him too. Her eyes landed on the soldiers, he looked pretty surprised she was there. Although she knew why. Women weren't supposed to go to war.

"What the bloody hell is a women doing on the battlefield? Are you crazy, love?" He exclaimed, his British accent thick, he eyed the three looking for an answer, but shook it off. "Ugh, come on, camps not far."

Wyatt exchanged looks with Rufus and Lucy, hesitant whether to follow this mysterious soldier, but decided its their only lead and followed him. The soldier slowed to walk at trios pace. "So what's she doing here? Shouldn't she be back home safe with the children? This is no place for women."

Lucy frowned at his last words and put on a fake British accent. "I was recruited by the Queens royal army, we're here to retrieve a man, he's demanded to be returned home, queens orders."

The man seemed startled by Lucy's response. "I'm sorry I wasn't aware of the mission, or of the fact I'd be before someone so important, but this man must be very important for the queen to let a woman out in the field—who might he be?"

"It's classified information, sorry soldier." Lucy replied, joining Wyatt and Rufus. She cleared her throat, lowering her voice. "We have to find Flynn before we're blown to smithereens so you search every inch of that camp."

"We know, just don't get killed whilst we're searching," Wyatt smirked, giving her a playful nudge. She smiled brightly up at him her warm eyes dancing with his. "I'm joking just be careful, we need you."

"Here we are." Announced the soldier, separating a bunch of bushes and plants and revealing a small camp just downhill.
They entered the camp, strolling in casually as if they'd been there often, they were greeted with many stares, almost all of them had their eyes on Lucy, quickly making her feel uncomfortable. Wyatt saw the ogling eyes too, glaring at every man who stared at her as he walked closely beside her. Wyatt leaned down so his mouth was inches from Lucy's ear, she could feel his breath as soon as he spoke, making her heart race.

"You're coming with me and Rufus to search for Flynn. I don't like the looks in these guys' eyes." He whispered into her ear, she rolled her eyes at Wyatt though she couldn't help but agree with him. Even if these were people who were going to win the biggest war in the world. She nodded up at him giving him a sweet smile, then silently followed the soldier.
