It only took a few minutes and Wyatt was out of the soldiers uniform and back in his casual, everyday clothes. He made his way back to the med bay, this time Lucy wasn't alone and she was sat up, pillowing behind her supporting her. Her mother, medium length blonde hair and bright blue eyes that were hard to miss, her eyes were complete opposites to Lucys. Lucy's were a soft, warm, deep brown, and her mothers were a icy, crystal like blue. Her mother sat besdie Lucy on the edge of the bed, stroking Lucys cheek lovingly. Wyatt cleared his throat grabbing both Lucy and her mothers attention. Lucy gave him an almost shy smile and gestured him over. Her mother slid off the bed and held out her hand, which Wyatt gladly shook, happy she wasn't one of those people who meet people and hug them, he wasn't fond of those type of people.

"Mum, this is Wyatt Logan, my friend, I work alongside him with Rufus." Lucy introduced, Wyatt shot Lucy a awkward smile before smiling back at her mother. "Wyatt, this is Carol Preston, my mum."

"It's lovely to finally meet you Ms Preston." Wyatt grinned, as he watched Ms Preston eye him as if to check if she approved. Wyatt straightened his posture, giving her a nod.

"Wyatt...you're the boy that carried my daughter when she was shot, you got her here right?" Wyatts eyebrows shot up, surprised she knew about that, she couldn't have been here that long to know that right? His cheeks heated up and he rubbed the nape of his neck, letting out an awkward laugh.

"Uh-how did you-"

"Rufus." Lucy answered for her, Wyatt wasn't surprised, Rufus couldn't skip details, he had to add every single one. He nodded to Carol, giving her an answer to her question.

"Well I'd like to thank you." Carol smiled fondly, nodding in thanks sensing he wasn't a hugger. She scanned him once more, knowing he was from the military. He just gave off that vibe.

"No need, she would've done the same for me," Wyatt shrugged, tilting his head at his words, realising Lucy wouldn't be able to carry him. "Well, maybe not carry me, but she would've found a way."

Lucy giggled, imagining herself dragging Wyatt to the time ship, "Or you know, I would've got Rufus to carry you." She added.

"Or that," Wyatt chuckled. Carol sat down in the seat beside Lucy's bed, watching the interaction between the pair. She couldn't help but wonder if this Wyatt was the reason Lucy had called a break on her and Noah. "So when will you be up and about?"

"The doctor said she'd be at bed rest for a few weeks, visitthe doctor regularly and she should be back to her healthy self." Carol answered, earning a sigh from Lucy who wanted to answer for herself, Wyatts face fell. A few weeks. That was a long time.

"So...no work?" Wyatt asked, knowing she wouldn't be allowed in the time ship until she was healed. Which begged the question.

What if they had a mission?

Lucy shook her head, "No work, Christopher's orders."

"Right. Good, it means you get to rest nice and easy, you'll get better quicker that way." Wyatt said at an unusual speed, making Lucy furrow her eyebrows at him, sensing the difference in his tone. "You don't think they'd replace you do you?"

"No, Christopher wouldn't do that. I think." Lucy muttered, thinking about it but she shook her head. "No because if she tries, you and Rufus will stop her, right?"

"Right." Wyatt agreed, turning his attention to Carol. "Would you like a coffee Ms Preston?"

"I would love one thank you, and please call me Carol." She said politely, Wyatt nodded then looked to Lucy, she opened her mouth to tell him she wanted one too, but he stopped her.

"You were shot with a bullet, no hot beverages, all I can get you is water."

"Since when were you a doctor?" Lucy frowned, now wanting a coffee even more seem as she couldn't have one.

"I've been shot plenty of times, I know the procedure by now, so water?" Wyatt asked, now at the med bay entrance ready to disappear out of the room. Lucy sighed but nodded and Wyatt was gone. Carol shuffled her seat closer to Lucy, making Lucy her a perplexed look.

"I think I should call Noah." Her mother said and as soon as the words left her mouth, Lucy shook her head. "He's your fiance, he needs to know that you were shot Lucy, rememeber he does actually care for you."

"I know, but the work I do, just...it's something I could only tell you about, well technically I'm only allowed to tell you the baby details, like where I work, but that's not the point, Noah can't know, besides it's not like its any good him being here, he'll just ask questions that I can't answer and worry."

Carol sighed and nodded, signalling she wouldn't tell him. "Fine, but you've got to tell me why you called a break between you two, a mother needs to know. Did you have a fight?"

Lucy sighed, she hated the subject of Noah, she couldn't exactly tell her mum she had no idea who he was, that she'd gone back in time messed everything up and now she had no sister and she was engaged to someone named Noah. She ran her hand through her hair and looked at her mother, sat waiting expectantly. "I just feel like I'm having second thoughts about all of this, me and him, he's...he feels like a stranger. Things have just been too much recently, what with the new job."

"So it has nothing to do with this Wyatt?" Carol asked, scanning her daughters reaction, she was a little stunned by her mothers words, her cheeks flushing rosy red.

"No. Nothing to do with Wyatt, he's just a friend mum." Lucy replied, "Now, hows work been going?" Lucy said changing the subject of quick as she could.
