Lucy let out short sigh as Wyatt helped her onto the bed, resting her back against the headrest. Wyatt looked at her worriedly, it was becoming his most regular face nowadays. Lucy's eyes panned around the room, feeling like something was missing, but after a few minutes she just shrugged it off and looked to Wyatt as he sat on the bed beside hers, looking like something was bothering him.
"What's up?" Lucy asked, turning herself to sit opposite of him. He looked up at her and shrugged.
"Nothing, I'm just tired. I didn't get much sleep last night." Wyatt sighed, dropping so he was laying on the bed looking at the ceiling. His eyes tracing every detail of the pattern, just wanting to drift off to sleep.
"Nightmares?" Lucy asked, copying him and laying on her bed, her hands resting on her stomach. She turned her neck to look over at him, his eyes trained on her.
"Yeah." He replied, before breaking the eye contact and returning to look up at the ceiling.
"I have those, about Amy, sometimes about being shot, sometimes thinking we were somehow marooned in whatever year," Lucy mumbled, she could hear the light sound of the carts and wagons passing by in the distance, horse shoes tapping melodious as they hit the ground. Faint chatter could be heard too, she wasn't going to lie, she liked listening to the people talk, she was quite fond of the British accent. "This job is scary and dangerous and can give you some creepy nightmares, but as stupid as it sounds. I actually really like it."
"Me too." Wyatt replied, his voice hush, just about louder than a whisper so she could here. "It has it's good parts. I mean think, we're timetravellers."
"It's crazy, we didn't even know time travel existed a couple months ago," Lucy muttered in disbelief, this trip had changed her life, literally. "I didn't have a fiancé a couple of months ago either, nor did I have a working, living mother."
"I don't like that guy." Wyatt murmured, Lucy sat up with a smirk wiped along her face.
"I figured that when you walked off." Lucy laughed, Wyatt lifted himself up so he was resting on his elbows, rolling his eyes playfully at her.
"Yeah well, he's some strange guy that came storming into our work space, isn't he meant to be giving you space?" Wyatt said, doing his best to hide his jealousy, he looked over at her. She slid off her bed and sat at the edge of his, just beside him.
"He is, but my mum can't keep her mouth shut it seems." Lucy sighed, "Every time he can he tries to move in to kiss me, luckily every time he's tried I've been able to get out of kissing him. But I don't know what to do, I can't just break up with him-"
"Yes you can, simply cut him off." Wyatt shrugged, making her shake her head at him, "What? Come on, you don't even know the guy, you can't be afraid of hurting his feelings."
"I am because he's apparently known me for years, he thinks we're good, all happy, soon to be married. He still believes I'm his Lucy, the one he fell in love with. It'll hurt him if I just cut him off Wyatt." Lucy explained, letting her hands drop in her lap, Wyatt sighed, sitting up properly and placing his hands over hers, one of his hands practically covered both her little hands.
"Well, you'll figure it out, you are Lucy Preston after all." Wyatt smirked, nudging her making a blush creep on her cheeks. She hesitantly moved her hand so it was entwined with his, smiling happily down at them. Wyatt couldn't help but smile too, her smile was contagious. Her hand fitted perfectly in his, like it was meant to be. His thumb smoothed the back of her hand and soon enough she rested her head on his shoulder, enjoying the comfort. Wyatt liked it too, he liked having her so close. He rested his chin on her head. "Don't worry, I won't tell Rufus you cried."
Lucy let out a short giggle, "Gee, thanks." They heard the handle of the door and Lucy moved quickly to sit on her own bed, smiling innocently at Rufus as he came in out of breath.
"You'd think someone would have respect for a guy in fancy clothes," He sighed, trying to catch his breath, he placed his gun on the desk, dropping onto the sofa. Lucy snuck a look at Wyatt, he'd slipped away, making her wonder where he was going, but she knew he'd be back. She leaned over the side of the sofa looking down at Rufus.
"I almost shot Flynn."
"No you didn't, Flynn would have stopped you before you could shoot. I heard it all over the coms." Rufus spoke, Lucy gave him a little scowl but left him be, he sat up on his elbow and looked over at her. "Are you ok though? I uh, I heard you cry."
Lucy made a mental note to remember to turn off the coms from time to time, but she smiled over at Rufus. "I could be better, but for now, I'm ok. We have to get to the King, Flynn killed the man who betrays Guy Fawkes, so we've got to send him the message about the attempt to kill him."
"Lucy, you realise the times for them to blow up the parliament could have changed, if we go into the parliament to see him, there's a big chance we'll be blown to pieces to if no one listens to us." Rufus mentioned, she hadn't thought of that. She bit down on her lip trying to think.
"Well we can't let him go through with killing King James, the consequences would be too great." Lucy sighed, midway through her sentence Wyatt came back in, stuffing the gun he'd handed Lucy earlier into his jacket.
"We're going to stop Fawkes ourselves," Wyatt announced, pulling Rufus up he looked at Wyatt as though he was crazy, but Lucy went with it, she was used to his crazy ideas by now.
"Wyatt, thats a suicide mission." Rufus exclaimed, but he stuck his gun in his jacket too, knowing he wasn't going to be able to get out of it.
"Not necessarily, we knock each of them out, keep them knocked out until Lucy comes with the guards, then they'll see the plots real and they'll arrest Guy and his friends. There, history saved." Wyatt explained, looking to Lucy. "Your good at persuading people, persuade the guards to come with you to the tunnels."
Wyatt grabbed Rufus and left the room in a rush, knowing the tunnels were at least fifteen minutes away whereas Lucy only had to go at least ten minutes until she reached the parliament.
