Just as Wyatt had expected it to be the house was pristine as though they'd hired their own cleaner to come and make the house spotless, the white paint on the walls not a speck of off colour on them. The wooden flooring had teeny details on it, the shine from the light reflecting off of it. Their was only one way to describe Lucy's house in Wyatt's opinion, cosy and welcoming. Wyatt followed Carol and Lucy as they were in deep conversation as Lucy told her mother small things about their trip, avoiding saying they travelled back hundreds of years from now. Her mother seemed happy listening to her daughters words, taking each of them in and looking at her with awe, clearly wishing she could have been their with them.

Wyatt stopped as his eyes landed on a photo frame with a photo of Lucy as a child and her mum stood behind her, holding her shoulder like one of those fancy large paintings you'd find over the fire place. He let out a laugh as he spotted Lucy had used to have braces, the noise of his laughter caught her attention, making her stop mid-sentence and look over at Wyatt, she glanced down at his hands, noticing the photo and leapt towards him, snatching the photo her cheeks burning red with embarrassment. She avoided eye contact and placed the photo face down on the cabinet and frowned up at Wyatt as he sniggered.

"That was a dark time in my childhood," Lucy blushed, tugging on Wyatt's hand to make him follow her mother into the living room. "Amy was the pretty one, she never needed braces."

"Someone prettier than you? Nah, impossible." Wyatt complimented, adding his signature wink for more effect, Lucy blushed even worse than she already was. But she still managed a smirk.

"I think I like these compliments." Lucy smiled taking a step closer to him, he didn't miss the movement but she cleared her throat and stepped back as her mother interrupted them; her phone to her ear. Carol mouthed 'Noah'  to Lucy, she'd completely forgotten about her fiancé. Carol muttered something then turned to Lucy a smile plastered on her face.

"I have invited Noah, he's been calling asking about you everyday, wondering if you'd returned home yet, now you two take a seat whilst I start cooking the food." Carol told them before leaving to head into the kitchen.

"Maybe I should leave, I don't want to be stuck here watching you and Noah." Wyatt sighed, refusing to sit and about to head out the of the living room and for the front door but Lucy caught his hand turning him to face her.

"No. I don't want you to go...I like having you around." Lucy pleaded but she could still see the hesitance on his face. She got onto her tiptoes so that she was his height, held his shoulders to keep her steady and gazed at him. "I don't want Noah, I want you Wyatt." She said so softly, a genuine look danced across her face. His face was inches from hers now, a familiar dazzling smirk danced across his face as he looked into those wide, chocolate brown eyes.

"I like you too, babydoll." He leaned forward, his lips connecting with hers happily, but it was only short as they heard a click of heels returning to the living room. They both took a step away from each other just as Carol entered the room, stopping as she glanced between the two, sensing something had happened but decided not to bring it up. Lucy quickly sat down her lips pressed in a line knowing her mother would question why they were still on their feet. Carol seemed satisfied sat down too, making a smile reappear on her face and she sat opposite them.

"Did your friend Rufus not want to join?" Carol asked curiously.

"Rufus is with his girlfriend Jiya, they've haven't seen each other in around a week and I think they'd rather be with each other than with us." Lucy explained, shifting to get comfortable.

"But wasn't Rufus with you two, surly he as gone longer than a week?"

"He was, but after a week with us on the mission he had to get back to his family, then after a couple of weeks Rufus came back to get us." Wyatt answered, making Carol tilt her head, Wyatt knew she was to figure out what the mission could have been.

"So Rufus never really went on the mission?" Carol muttered, looking for answers between the two.

"Yes, but he just left earlier. Me and Wyatt just had to survive until he came back." Lucy sighed, she'd always hated having to explain things twice, which was ironic seem as she was a previous teacher. But she had to admit her students were smart enough to not need her to explain it twice.

"You'd best not mention that you and Wyatt were alone together for two weeks to Noah, I think by the rambles from Noah, he already dislikes Wyatt, truthfully I didn't want to invite him around but I promised as soon as you returned, I'd call him." Carol warned, getting up once more to double check the food, not wanting it to over cook.

"Just to point out, I don't like Noah either." Wyatt muttered just as there was a knock at the door, Lucy gave Wyatt a quick sympathetic look before getting to her feet.

"Be nice for me?" Lucy asked, giving him a sweet smile and her usual glossy eyed look that made him sigh and agree. She gave him a victory smirk, leant down kissed his cheek and went to answer the door.
