Everyone smiled as the pair reunited, even Mason smiled, happy for the pair and he was possibly the grumpiest out of the entire room of staff. But the happiness didn't last long, it never does for the time team, a booming voice echoed throughout the Industries, making heads turn towards the man who'd came storming in, half staggering, clearly he'd had a couple drinks, but not enough that he wasn't prepared for an argument. The man noticed Lucy still half in Wyatt's arms and the scowl grew to a look of hate, like he was Satan himself.
"Noah what are yo-" Lucy called over, awkwardly stepping out of Wyatt's hold, doing her best to ignore the twenty eyes flickering between her and Noah, she was sure she'd never known anyone as nosey as the time staff, they were like meerkats, always alert when there's gossip. Lucy wasn't able to finish her sentence because Noah had stepped towards her, no longer at the entrance and now closer to the gathering of people. Lucy's face scrunched up in disgust at the smell of alcohol. He pointed over her shoulder, his face still formed in a scowl.
"You. Everything was fine between us, we were happy! Then she took this stupid job and met you!" Noah spat, so much aggression clear in his voice. But there were tears in his eyes, they had yet to spill over, but Lucy they were both sad and angry tears. His eyes lowered to look down at Lucy who'd moved in front of him, keeping him from heading towards Wyatt. Wyatt seemed pretty calm, he had no reason to be otherwise, he felt sorry for Noah, but he knew Lucy had no idea about their relationship, she didn't remember being with him. He was just thrown at her and she didn't want him, even if he wanted her. So Wyatt remained quiet, letting Lucy handle it. Not even Agent Christopher spoke. "I loved you...you told me we were breaking up because too much had changed, things were different but really you were sleeping with that asshole."
Lucy went pink at his last words, she shook her head. "No Noah, I was telling the truth, things they have changed, they just haven't changed for you. I'm not...I'm not sleeping with Wyatt, i wouldn't do that, especially not whilst I was with someone else. This isn't the time for this, we can talk about this tomorrow in private." Lucy sighed, trying her best to usher him out but he pushed her a little to roughly off of him and she staggered on her feet, luckily Jiya managed to keep Lucy balanced. Wyatt glared at Noah, his eyes flared.
"Don't you dare shove her." Wyatt snarled, his fists in a ball, readying to start a fight. Noah stepped closer, walking sideways but managing to head for Wyatt, now Rufus got involved, he stepped in Noah's path just as he reached Wyatt.
"Now guys, lets just back up, no need to start a fight, this can be settled by a conv-" Noah had kicked Rufus in his privates before he could finish his sentence and gasps broke out through the gathering as Rufus groaned in pain. Wyatt wouldn't have minded if Noah had hit him, but he'd hit Rufus who was only trying to help, Wyatt wiped the smirk off of Noah's face when he swung a hard punch at the man almost making him crash to the floor. Whilst Noah was gathering himself up, Wyatt assisted Rufus who had Jiya on one side of him. Wyatt knew the pain of that hit and told him to go and take a seat.
"Hit anyone else in this facility and you'll be spending your weekend in a hospital bed, understand? Go sober up." Wyatt growled, about to walk off but Noah lunged forward, springing himself onto Wyatt, making them both crash to the floor.
"Wyatt!" Lucy called, worry laced her voice, although she secretly knew Noah stood no chance if he was up for a fight, but Noah was persistent to get a hit in. He raised his fist and it collided with Wyatt's cheekbone making a small cut, Wyatt took the hit well, but he wasn't letting the fight slide, his fists pounded into Noah who let out a cry of pain, he was sure he'd broken one of Noah's ribs. He let out a breath and got to his feet with the help of a couple staff who clapped his back, proud he was protecting his friends.
Noah got to his feet after catching his breath but this time he didn't make a next move, he remained stood his nostrils flared, they would be breathing smoke if this was a cartoon. He had a cut along his face from Wyatt's first punch and his arm rested on his left rib as though he was holding it together. By then the security guards had showed up, both of them grabbing Noah's arms, putting on the cuffs, Noah fought for a few moments but he glared at both Lucy and Wyatt as she went to check if Wyatt was ok.
"You can have her, she was never anything special." Noah yelled as they dragged him out, Lucy ignored the comment and focused on Wyatt, cupping his cheeks, he winced as she touched the minor cut on his face.
"Let's get you a something for that, it's bleeding." Lucy said softly, her hands leaving his face and her hand lacing in his as she directed him to the medical room, "Sit down." Lucy instructed, moving around the room, her feet barely making a sound as she pattered around looking for things. She took hold of a cotton ball, a small white strip to place over the wound after and a little pot of water to help clean his face. Lucy pulled up a chair in front of him, her eyes connecting with his for a moment, a small smile curling on her lips before she turned serious and tilted his head to see the cut better.
"You seem like you've done this before." Wyatt pointed out, watching the walls of the room as she patched up his face, who knew a little cut could hurt like hell.
"I had to help in the nurse's room when I was teaching, she was off sick and they put me and this other teacher to attend to the injured, I guess I was pretty good at it." Lucy said, her voice practically a whisper as she spoke, concentrating. Wyatt's eyes flickered to her, a smirk sliding across his face, Lucy rolled her eyes playfully. "What?" She felt his eyes trained on her.
"Nothing. Just, I thought you fainted at the sight of blood." Wyatt murmured, still watching, in no time she was done and she was blushing at him, shrugging her shoulders, her hand sliding into his.
"I didn't deal with students who were bleeding, I left that to the other teacher, I dealt with the minor ones, like twisted ankle, migraine, things like that. But this was only a little blood. I can handle that." Lucy admitted, her cheeks still a warm pink. She smiled over at him, shifting her chair and resting her head on his shoulder and he rested his cheek against her hair. "It was sweet you sticking up from me and Rufus."
"Well your my team, right?" Wyatt played that famous smirk, he lifted their entwined hands and kissed her knuckles, earning a loving smile from Lucy who looked up at him in awe. She leaned forward, having to sit up straight because when they were sat down he was even taller than her but she put her hand around his neck and pulled him into a kiss, he responded gladly, holding her back. When they eventually came up for air, they both had identical smiles dancing across their faces. "Does this mean your definitely my girlfriend now? Not just friends who occasionally kiss."
"Yes, it does." Lucy giggled, her lips reconnecting with his, setting that fire alight in her stomach.
