Wyatt gave her a look, catching her off guard as he reached for her hand hesitantly but gentle enough for her to pull herself away. Their was barely any space left between them, which seemed to make her heart leapt with joy. Wyatt stepped from foot to foot, nerves building.

"Lucy," He finally spoke, his voice soft and warm, his thumb brushing the back of her hand. "I know there's no mistletoe in here, and that it'll be highly inappropriate seem as you have a fiancé who seems to really care for you and we work together but, uh—C-can I kiss you?"

Lucy felt her cheeks heat up, but for now she couldn't care, he'd talked her out of leaving early, not wanting to be questioned about her and Wyatts relationship. But Wyatt didn't want her to go, he didn't care what one child thought. Truth was he did have a thing for Lucy, but he wasn't sure if she knew but he took his chance. But he wouldn't force a kiss on her, he'd simply ask. Lucy appreciated that more than he knew, she loved how gentle he was being as though at and moment she'd shatter like glass. Lucy nodded and leaned in, closing the little space they had left between them, planting a kiss on his lips, Wyatt immediately kissed back, placing his arms around her waist, glad he could finally get a kiss. Lucy was pretty happy about it too, melting into the kiss, sweet and gentle.
They broke apart, taking a breath and resting their foreheads against each others, grinning from ear to ear.

"I guess Christmas just got a lot better." Wyatt chuckled, Lucy giggled, lifting her head to meet the blue eyes which seemed to twinkle in the light.

"Yeah, it did." Lucy ran her thumb across his jaw, smiling to herself. "You know I've wanted to kiss you again since we went to give Bonnie and Clyde a visit." Lucy mumbled.

"Funny. So have I. Seems like your kisses are memorable, babydoll." Wyatt grinned in delight, moving his hand so it eventually entwined with Lucy's. "So...what now?"

"Thats the hard part. Noah, I can't just say theres another guy, it'll start a war between you two. I can't just call it off without a reason either, any idea?"

"It doesn't feel the same as it was when you first met? Your feelings have changed? I'm not entirely good at break up excuses." Wyatt suggested, wincing at how terrible they were but Lucy smiled at his suggestions, trying her best to come up with some sort of reason. She didn't want to twist the truth too much. So she decided on saying things aren't the same as they used to be, feelings weren't the same as they used to be. It was clear to Lucy, break ups weren't her strong suit.

"I'll come up with something," Lucy finished, deciding to push it to something to think about later. Her cheeks blushed as she met Wyatts gaze, he seemed as happy as she was. "For now, lets enjoy the party, shall we?"

Wyatt nodded, both of them separating from one another deciding it was best not to walk back into dinner with their hands locked together, they'd caused enough questions for one night. No one seemed to pay attention to their return, maybe it was because Rufus had told them to leave Wyatt and Lucy be but either was Lucy was glad they didn't stare. She sat back in her chair as Wyatt did, pushing their chairs back in and returning to their food although they weren't really hungry anymore. Kevin scratched his cheek, looking up at Lucy and Wyatt.

"I didn't mean to pry, I'm sorry." Kevin apologized, staring at the table then up at the pair who just smiled.

"It's fine." They said together, Kevin nodded and went back to his remaining vegetables left on his plate. Rufus beamed over at the two.

"Do you like the food? Mum took a entire day cooking it."

"It's delicious, you're an amazing cook Ms Carlin." Lucy complimented, smiling over at the woman who blushed at the comment.

"Thank you, dear."

"I don't believe I've ever had a turkey cooked as good as this one, we all know how hard it is to get the turkey right and I think you nailed it, it tastes fantastic!" Wyatt commented, Ms Carlins cheeks lit up even more and she straightened up proudly.

"Well, it didn't take much really, just a little time in the oven, few spices sprinkled over the top for extra flavour," Ms Carlin explained, Wyatt listened politely. "You have to see the desert! Oh it's beautiful, I've made brownies, cheesecake and oh! A wonderful chocolate cake alongside a Victoria sponge!"

"All of which I love, I can't wait." Wyatt smiled noticing the womans excitement at her cooking, she did remind him a lot of Rufus in ways, they had the same modest behaviour and excitement over the little things.
