Wyatt pushed open the B&Bs bedroom door, almost falling in, he was so used to stiff doors that he hadn't expected this one to be so easy to open. Lucy was enjoying this trip already, it seemed to want to embarrass Wyatt and for her, that was hilarious. Wyatt glared at the the pair as they laughed at him, but his cheeks flushed in embarrassment. Straightening his clothes, patting down invisible creases. Rufus dropped their bags on the bed, opening the briefcase that Mason had given them with the mission inside, although it was basically telling them what it always did, make sure Flynn doesn't screw history, fix it if he does and make sure you kill him. Yet that last bit they still hadn't managed to accomplish.
"So what happens in 1605?" Wyatt asked, glancing at Lucy.
"Guy Fawkes attempts to kill King James I, but they stop him just in time, how do you not know this? Don't you remember the rhyme?" Lucy questioned, looking between the pair but they shook their heads and she sighed, taking a deep breath but keeping her voice quiet just in case anyone passing their room heard,
'Remember! Remember!
The fifth of november,
The gunpowder treason and plot;
I know of no reason
Why the gunpowder treason and plot,
Should ever be forgot!'Wyatt and Rufus looked at her, forcing themselves not to laugh, but Wyatt couldn't help it, "You need to get out more, why are you listening to old english folk songs?"
"Hey! It's helpful ok, besides thats not all of it, I forgot the rest." Lucy pouted, sitting down on the bed in a huff. Rufus snickered as he went into the bathroom, it was only a tiny little room with something that was barely a toilet and a tiny bath tub. The thought of using it made Lucy cringe. She looked back at Wyatt, he'd already started loading his gun, stuffing it hidden in his jacket. "So I've got to go around and ask about Guy Fawkes? Why?"
"Yeah. Isn't he going to be at that big black and white house, using the tunnels? Which I'm guessing we're going to have to use sometime today." Wyatt muttered, checking he had everything. Lucy got to her feet, not to fast but frowned at Wyatt.
"You do know this day you liar!" Lucy exclaimed, placing her hands on her hips, an annoyed look on her face. Wyatt moved his gaze to her as she frowned at him, giving her a little smile.
"This one was in one of Agent Christophers files," Wyatt shrugged, "Plus I just wanted to hear you sing the rhyme, your not half bad you know."
Lucy rolled her eyes at him and headed over to the large window, moving the curtains to look outside, scanning the streets. Happy this was at least a safe place to be, but knowing Flynn, he could come out from nowhere. She opened her mouth to call Wyatt to the window but when she turned he was already right behind her, she let out a little gasp as she bumped into him. Her cheeks colouring a deep red, glancing at her hands that had rested on his chest when she bumped into him.
"I was gonna uh—ask when you were going." Lucy said her voice hush as she spoke, she hadn't meant for it to be, but she couldn't help but notice the lack of space between them. Wyatt looked just as surprised as her even though he was the one already beside her. His hands rested on her forearms, looking down at her, he snapped out of his little trance when she spoke.
"Uh—yeah," He cleared his throat, taking a step backwards, Lucy's hands falling from his chest. She looked at him, his eyes seemed a brighter blue, shining in the natural light making her feel like someone had handed her a diamond, something, well someone so precious. "Um, now...we're leaving now, that is if Rufus will get out of the bathroom."
Lucy gave him a weak, small smile, nodding. She felt sort of speechless now, lost for words maybe, she felt like anything she'll say will come out in a whisper as she tries to get over that little moment they'd just had.
Wyatt shifted awkwardly, glancing at her every now and then, just wanting to go over there and tell her how he feels but he didn't know how, plus she has a fiancé. Rufus finally came out, sensing the tension as he stepped into the room. He knew there was something going on with them, everyone could sense it, besides Wyatt almost spent all his time with Lucy, just like Lucy spent most of her time with Wyatt. Sure they butted heads with one another a lot, but they cared for each other, it was clear.
Rufus decided it was best not to question the tension and move past it."Right, sorry let's go." Rufus spoke, opening the door Wyatt and Lucy following behind. But Lucy squealed almost forgetting something. She tried to move fast but winced and slowed her speed as she rushed back into the room. Rummaging through the brief case, finding an envelope and taking out the three coms at the bottom of it. She left the room, the boys waiting downstairs for her, she handed them each a com. "Coms? Christopher never mentioned these."
"She told me before I went to change, that way we can communicate when we're separated, like if I need you guys, I can just let you know, instead of going to search for you." Lucy explained, switching hers on and placing it, hidden inside her ear. The boys doing the same, Wyatt seemed pretty impressed.
They headed out into the streets, thinking they would blend in with the regular people walking around the street but it seemed they'd picked up too much of a fancy costume, most people were barely wearing anything nice, whereas the trio were wearing clothes that looked like it had cost them thousands. Lucy exchanged looks with Rufus and Wyatt, but Wyatt gestured for them to carry on. Most heads turned to look at the three as if they were royal, Lucy hated the attention, feeling like she was back in the camp with those men."Ok so Lucy, you ask around and me and Rufus will go search for Flynn, no doubt we'll find him with Fawkes." Wyatt instructed, Lucy gave him a nervous look, not wanting to separate.
"I'm not going to get mugged right?" Lucy whispered, taking Wyatts hand before he could head off. He glanced around the street, there was quite a few men, most people looked rough. Wyatt moved close to her, stepping so they were inches apart and he reached in his suit and took out his gun, quickly grabbing her purse and shoving it in, the look of panic flooded her face. "Wyatt?! What are you doing?"
"Look if someone tries to mug you just point the gun at them and they'll leave you be, I highly doubt I'll find Flynn and if I do, I can easily knock out one of his men and take their gun. I was in the army remember?" Wyatt whispered, giving her a reassuring look then stepping away from her. "I'm not going to let you get hurt again and if I had a choice I wouldn't leave your side but I don't, so you take the gun. I'll be back soon."
Wyatt headed off in the direction Rufus had gone in and she stood alone, staring at her purse nervously. She clung to it for dear life, terrified someone might jump out and snatch it along with the gun and she went on her way.
