Lucy didn't understand why Wyatt had called her persuasive, because right now she was doing an awful job at persuading someone to get the royal guards. It didn't seem to matter that she told them the kings life was in grave danger, they just ignored her presence and Lucy undoubtedly knew it was because she was a woman.
She hammered her fist against the glass case the men who were ignoring her were in. They looked up at her and sighed.

"Ma'am if you continue to bother us we're going to have to escort you off the premise." One of them sighed, then returning to their newspaper. The other grumbled something about crazy and Lucy just ignored him.

"Please, sir!" Lucy begged, "Your kings life is at stake, at least let me bring one guard. Guy Fawkes and his men are about to blow this place up with gunpowder killing everyone in it, meaning the king, I just really need you to listen to me, please!"

The man seemed to get fed up with her pleading and got to his feet. "Fine, I'll humour you." He pressed down on a button and ordered for one of the kings guards. "We need you out front, we've got a woman claiming someone is attempting to blow up the parliament with the king inside."

"Thank you." Lucy said, happy she'd finally got her way, she just prayed that Wyatt and Rufus were ok and that they could keep the men knocked out long enough for her and the guard to get there. It hadn't taken too long for the guard to reach the front gate. He scanned Lucy as if to check if she looked like a loony woman, she rolled her eyes and folded her arms. "I'm not crazy I can assure you that once you see Guy Fawkes and his men, not we really must go if we want to get there before they blow this place up."

The guard didn't say a word, but he didn't argue and when Lucy started moving, he was quick to walk beside her. She smirked in victory. But when she went to wave for a cab, the guard placed his hand on her back escorting her to a car. He opened the passenger seat for her and she climbed in.

"It'll be quicker if we drove ourselves, tell me the directions." He told her and she told him where it was and they were gone fast, heading straight for the secret tunnels. There was no talking as they drove to the location, both of them suspicious of one another, unsure if they were being tricked into a trap. But Lucy trusted this guard wasn't going to drive her to an asylum. She let out a breathe when they pulled up at the home where the tunnels were dug. They both got out of the car and Lucy led the way, in no time they were down in the muggy, dark, rotten smelled tunnels. She cringed at the smell but kept walking seeing a far ahead light, letting out a breath of relief. Once she came out into the light, expecting all the men to be knocked out of the floor, she only saw Wyatt and Rufus tied up, the men surrounding them. Wyatt caught sight of her shaking his head and Lucy pulled herself and guard against the wall, back into the darkness. The guard had his gun out, glaring at her. "What is this?"

"It's what I told you, look it didn't go as planned, those men they were supposed to be knocked out by my men, looks like they managed to capture my friends instead. So I'm kind of relying on you and your gun. Save my men and your saving you king too." The guard looked at her with a look that read is this woman crazy?!. Lucy sighed, pointing to the trail of something grey along the floor as she peeked around the corner. "Gunpowder. This tunnel leads all the way to the parliament, where beneath it there are barrels of this stuff, if they light that up then poof, the king and parliament are dead."

The guards eyes widened, as his eyes followed the gunpowder that looked as though it led to the parliament. He took a deep breath and scanned the amount of men and readied for attack, pushing Lucy behind him. But they didn't expect a man to come around the corner but luckily the guard was prepared and knocked him cold, the man almost falling on Lucy as he fell. The guard gave Lucy a look.

"One down, a few more to go." He whispered, crouching and preparing his gun, but Lucy held his shoulder as he went to enter. "What now?"

"If you shoot them, the chemicals from your bullets could potentially spark a fire and kaboom, you have to knock them out." Lucy pointed out, the guard sighed, knowing she'd just made it harder for him to stop them. Lucy listened as Guy Fawkes spoke to Wyatt and Rufus, sounding angry and ready to murder them on spot. She heard the clicked of someone readying to fire and her heart lept. "Go!" She hissed and the guard entered.

She heard an oof! And numerous groans and about three or four bodies drop to the floor. She took it as her chance to come in and was relieved when she saw the guard was the last one standing, but he pointed the gun to Wyatts head.

"No! He's one of my men! What are you doing?" She exclaimed, jumping in front of Wyatt to defend him.

"I want the credit." The guard told her. "I want the credit for knowing about all of this, about stopping them and about saving the king, do you understand? Because I have been stuck as a lousy guard for way too long, saving the king, I'll become his right hand man. So, I get the credit or I blow each of your brains out one by one."

Lucy looked in disgust at the man, although she wasn't too surprised, he did seem suspicious to her. But she nodded, she didn't care about the credit, she wasn't staying here for another day anyway. By now she was betting Flynn had already travelled back to the present.

"Yes, whatever, we don't care about credit ok?!" Lucy said frantically, still shield Wyatt as well as Rufus now. "Let us go, we're leaving the city tonight anyway."

"Very well, but I'm going to escort you back to wherever your staying, just to make sure you don't pay a visit to the king and invite him into the tunnels, but I'll need to visit the parliament myself before I drop you off, so that my men can go and arrest these men." The guard reasoned, Lucy didn't care what he did as long as he didn't hurt Rufus or Wyatt. She spun around, kneeling down to untie them, Wyatt first then Rufus. She hugged them both, thankful they were ok, then nodded for the guard to escort them to their B&B.
