❝ like any real love, it drives you crazy ❞

* * *

the day after justin was taken to the police station, he was allowed out. he wasn't found guilty, luckily, or he would've been charged with two and a half years in jail for DUI.

selena was joyful that nothing too bad happened for his case, that he was free to go. however, for justin, it was a different matter.

selena had been anxiously waiting patiently for justin to arrive at his house. she saw the maid justin had hired for his house leaving just as she arrives, and the maid, knowing who selena was, gladly let her in with a promise from selena that she won't get fired.

and as the moment arrives that selena was waiting for, she felt nothing but fear, her stomach twisting in anticipation. she heard the report that justin got out on the news, that continued to play in the background on the tv.

the door rattles, and then it swings open revealing a pale justin. he stops in his tracks before reluctantly moving into the house and shutting the door behind himself. his oversized black hoodie was hollowing his whole figure. the hood was on, and he was hiding behind a pair of matte black sunglasses. the vibrant colours of his shoes took selena's gaze before she looked at his fragile frame.

"justin," selena whispers in shock. she could feel her eyes burn up, it creating tears.

but before she could cry for him, he beat her to it. he pulls down his hood, also taking off the glasses that were hiding his red eyes. a tear falls down his heated cheeks, making his jaw stand out now that she noticed how skinny he has gotten.

she grasps him by his shoulders, holding him in a tight hug. her eyes well up and soon she was silently crying along with justin.

"i'm so, so sorry," justin says between his sob. he struggles to breathe for a second, and once he calms down and takes a deep breath, he begins to cry all over again.

this wasn't the boy who comforted selena when she had her panic attack in front of him; this wasn't the boy who would tell her silly jokes to just hear her laughter for another time.

this was his true self; he was absolutely broken, yet he hides it to make everyone think he's okay.

this was the justin he tried to keep hidden from the public eye.

this was the real him.

someone broken, just like selena.
