❝ have you been drinkin' to
take the pain away? ❞* * *
"so what happened up there?" theresa asks as soon as selena entered the kitchen with a smile on her face. she was getting drinks for justin and herself.
"nothing. we're just talking." even if this was the truth, she couldn't help but not smile. she walks over to the fridge, opening it up to see what drinks were inside. deciding she wanted something more, she turns back around, "do we have alcohol?"
"uh – yeah. in the cellar i think," a suspicious theresa replies back. they both hear the noise: the stairs creaking, indicating that someone was coming down. justin. "i'll be in my room with headphones on," theresa whispers before swiftly leaving the kitchen.
she flushed. her stomach twisted and turned and knotted. before she could decide on what to do, justin walks in. she was already facing him. "hi," she says awkwardly, turning back to the fridge.
"hey," he mumbles, ambling closer to her. she could practically feel him. she was looking back inside the refrigerator, but she knew the alcohol wasn't in there, she just didn't know how to move. "what's taking you so long to get drinks?" he chuckles. she felt his chuckle on her bare shoulder.
"i – uh – i don't know. the alcohol isn't even in here." shutting the fridge, she turns around to face justin, who was so close to her that they might as well be kissing. she had to look up to him.
even though she tried to back away to get space between her and justin, with her back now on the refrigerator door, he still felt extremely close. "can you move so i can get it." she pushes him backwards by his stomach. moving to the threshold of the kitchen, she turns back to see justin was standing in the same spot from before, a new smirk on his pink lips.
"i was thinking," he says, "that you might need help. i could provide that help if you just ask." she knew what he was trying to get at.
"nice of you to offer. sure." walking away, she proceeds to the cellar to retrieve the wine. it was only a box room. before she could reach for the door, she gets pulled by a firm hand and spun around, forced up against the door. justin was right in front of her, his lips pressing near her forehead.
he was leaving her breathless.
"i'll get that," he whispers into her ear, his lips trailing her jaw. he gets to her chin and leaves a kiss. opening the door selena was pressed up against, he moves away from her to let her move. once she does, he goes into the cellar first, followed by selena.
"so what wines do you have?" justin asks, getting to the bottom of the stairs. finding the light switch in the dark room, he switches it on. the room immediately lights up. all four walls were filled with specially designed shelves just for wine. and all those shelves were filled with wine. "woah," he breathes out, studying the wines.
not wanting to stay too long in the boxed room, selena grabs the first wine she could reach. she didn't even move from the stairs. "come on, let's go." justin notices this but doesn't say anything. obeying, he turns off the light and follows selena up the stairs. once he shuts the door, selena goes to the kitchen, followed by justin.
grabbing two glass cups specifically made for wines, she places them on the counter top. uncorking the bottle, she fills both cups.
they both sit on the massive centre counter, legs crossed and wines in front of them. "last time i was down in that cellar," selena starts off after taking her first sip of the wine, "i was dating this douchebag. he – uh – tried to have sex with me in there, trying to force me to. luckily, it didn't escalate. i ran back upstairs and told theresa, and because she's protective and shit, she kicked him out, promising that if he ever laid a hand on me again she will kill him."
"does she always have the say in your boys?" justin asks curiously.
selena nods. "i apparently don't have a good choice. they're either douchebags or not good for me. and i'm always blind when it comes to dating, so theresa guides me away from the bad boys."
justin laughs. "what'd she say about me?"
"she hasn't said anything bad. you're the lucky one. but i'm sure she'll find something." laughing, she takes another sip of her wine.
the kitchen was momentarily silent.
